Hello

me

Me. Where can I order 4xl t-shirt and 48/34 jeans that made in somewhere in Oregon?

>You will never ever own Bofors 37 mm

This is a terrible involution from the primitive one that praised jesus

What a verbose statement, Texas.

Where I can support troops?

me

no bully

Just press F.

I hate loving in America desu.

Joking aside, do people really go around thanking vets for their service?

I used to be one when I was young

Since using patriotic Xbox
A

Yeah, there's a really troop centric culture here. Although the issue arises when those vets need jobs. A lot of employers worry about PTSD and the like, so a lot of vets end up homeless. But at least they're thanked right?

It happens, but it's rare.

You don't.

In cities with bases it's occasional.
In cities without bases it's fairly often.

They receive little to no support in anything else but words though.

Yes, often... especially on Memorial Day, Independence Day, Veterans Day (obviously), etc. Sometimes they wait at the airport with signs to thank them as they return from a tour.
The flip side is sometimes people wear uniforms in public just to get special treatment, military discounts, etc. There's a whole subculture of real vets who bust them for "stolen valor". It's pretty cringey.

What changed?

Gonna bully u

this cant be real

be one again!!!

It really depends on the region.

A lot of midwestern and southern areas are big about it, as are towns and county where military facilities are located.

But I think when most people in America see or talk to someone who was or is currently in the military, they just say "oh okay," maybe ask them a few questions about their experience, and leave it at that.

>Hate America
>It's the only country I've ever lived in
>I've had all my life experiences here
>Can't see myself leaving it

Guess I'll go down with the ship screaming I told you so.

Not true, Veterans often get free food and other stuff too. I know I pay for veteran's food and drinks when I see them in a restaurant.

I think the worst part of this image is the .jpg compression, how hard is it to save images with lots of text as pngs?

So true.

>you were in the Marines?
>yes
>are you sure this work environment is going to suit you?
>what do you mean?
>you're not going to go crazy or anything?

That was my last interview. The funny part is that I fixed electronics in the military. They think we all see combat for some reason.

Russia you know what to do.

You can be again
Believe in urself Pierre

name one way your country is better than just california, i dare you

It's not California

>being a boo to a country with no culture

>I fixed electronics in the military
Thank you for your service to this country. My father painted barrels in Texas during 'Nam. A lot of his buddies came back with gunk under their fingernails. He still doesn't like to talk about it. I'm here for you, man.

Thank you for your service

>Says Gulf Oil State #586

Was he an alcoholic too?

As a teenager I borrowed my brothers army jacket once to run an errand, and while I was waiting in line this guy asked me what unit I was in.

I told him that I was wasn't in the army and I borrowed it from my brother to run an errand. He suddenly got really irritated and told me I shouldn't do that, why am I wearing it, etc. I just brushed him off.

It was fucking weird. People get so uptight about military service in this country.

Me. G*d bless U.S.A

It also doesn't help that no military training translates to a civilian degree.
So many vets need to go back to school just to 're-learn' skills they already have to get a job interview.

Because some people had to go through a lot of shit to earn that uniform. Seeing some teen wear it like a jacket is probably annoying to them.

Well that's none of my concern. I'm not responsible for hurting your feelings just because I grabbed the first jacket closest to the door.

Naah, he's just a "funny" drunk.

ameriblops pls give me (you)

i love

...

If he was in a full dress uniform trying to get laid or wheedle a discount at Orange Julius I could understand calling him out on it, but a jacket..?
This guy.

i love you guys

I like many aspects of the american society and culture, but when it come to politics I don't think I would ever, ever agree with 95% of them in any way.

Ok

You said it was weird people get uptight about it and I gave you an explanation as to why.

Nice digits bro

This is the only time it bothers me.

>tfw everyone who likes america only likes us because they're afraid of our military or we buy their stuff

I don't get this shit.

I realize most americans assume "Oh you're enlisting? RIP", which is why most non military families and parents will try to talk you out of the decision no matter what explanation you try. But at least ex military have proven they can function well in a structured environment beyond high school. That alone should make them more desirable job candidates than most average people.

Think Americans obsession with thanking military may very well fall into the same category with praying for someone who's just had something terrible happen to them. "Oh well you'll be in my prayers." It's a way for that person to make themselves feel better without actually committing to doing anything.

Me
But both Hillary and Trump are the worst choice as a president I guess

Of course.
America is numbar wan country

We don't either.

yo, this left me a bit speechless. I know she's just trolling but I was about to RKO my monitor.

keep the compliments going

It's because of obnoxious old men who pressure us into sucking up to them.

Also because of people feeding us the "they fought for our freedom" crap. Even though no American soldier has fought for anyone's freedom since the war of 1812.

>no American soldier has fought for anyone's freedom since the war of 1812.
We fought against fascism and the imperial fucks in Japan in WW2

I have a y-you too moment when people thank me. I don't know what to say because I did it being young and dumb and didn't know what I wanted to go to college for. Not some sense of serving people. I know first hand most veterans are just happy to be out and want to be treated like normal people.

>what are the world wars
>inb4 the Americans didn't have an impact

>America has no culture

this is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Yank culture practically invaded almost every country. Just because you're so accustomed to it doesn't mean it's not there.

Please leave.
I don't care where you go, but you need to go.

It's not as much a conventional thing as it is a symbolic thing. Armed forces actually give up their rights, and I find it very touching that there people that feel that giving up their lives for your way of life is a life well spent. Maybe that's why I felt so disenfranchised with when I left the service. Selflessness is one of the greatest American virtues you can have. It's one of the reasons I despise feminism, and socialism.

Narcissists who want to enact what they want to make themselves feel better.

It comes from tradition. Our military has done some astonishing things before we were born. Read through some of the medal of honor recipients and you'll see why.

Do you know what difference between a conscripted army, and a volunteer army who believe they have the weight of 400 million people pushing them forward?

If not. Just shut up. You'll make yourself look like a retard.

>america
>troop central culture
LMAO

>Israel
>not controlled by the Jews
Get woke and stay woke

American culture actually is troop centric. You should know by now. How long have you been leeching of of us?

How many soldiers have you seen today?

My Grandpa

>guaranteed replies

Me.

Yesterday was literally the day that we celebrate our troops, It's definitely troop focused, at least on the surface. There's a really big disconnect to how Americans think they treat their troops (Putting them on a pedestal) to what actually happens to them (1/4 of all homeless are veterans). Thanking a vet does nothing except make the civilian feel good, if you really want to help a vet, give them a job.

Saying America has a militaristic culture is like saying it's a patriarchal culture on the level of Saudi Arabia.

Just because some European countrys are even less militaristic doesn't make you """troop centric"""

>give them a job.
Then I'd have to pay for their fucking health insurance

Blame the gubmint

John Basilone

For extraordinary heroism and conspicuous gallantry in action against enemy Japanese forces, above and beyond the call of duty, while serving with the 1st Battalion, 7th Marines, 1st Marine Division in the Lunga Area, Guadalcanal, Solomon Islands, on 24 and 25 October 1942. While the enemy was hammering at the Marines' defensive positions, Sgt. BASILONE, in charge of 2 sections of heavy machine guns, fought valiantly to check the savage and determined assault. In a fierce frontal attack with the Japanese blasting his guns with grenades and mortar fire, one of Sgt. BASILONE'S sections, with its gun crews, was put out of action, leaving only 2 men able to carry on. Moving an extra gun into position, he placed it in action, then, under continual fire, repaired another and personally manned it, gallantly holding his line until replacements arrived. A little later, with ammunition critically low and the supply lines cut off, Sgt. BASILONE, at great risk of his life and in the face of continued enemy attack, battled his way through hostile lines with urgently needed shells for his gunners, thereby contributing in large measure to the virtual annihilation of a Japanese regiment. His great personal valor and courageous initiative were in keeping with the highest traditions of the U.S. Naval Service.[11]

You dumb nigger, your memorial day is literally a celebration where stores give fucking discounts on shit. If that is respect then I never want to be respected by an American.

easy Goldensteinberg. It's not a army worshiping conqueror state of assholes hoping to wipe their enemies off the planet. Typically it revolves protecting civil liberties, republicanism.

I was in the Air Force and Memorial and Veteran's Days are fucking stupid

It's a good excuse for a Barbecue though

Yes, but what holiday isn't about rampant consumerism? Symbolically it's supposed to remember those who died in wars, (There's also veterans day).
See now that's just because you're comparing Isreal to the US, Isreal is more troop focused because of your conscription. Of course you're gonna have a lot of vets.

No country without mandatory conscription can claim to have a "troop centric culture".

The fact that you actively go and thank soldiers/vets for their service is proof. You view them as an outside group who protects you, men who were sacraficed for freedom, not your brothers.

(Note that this isn't actually a bad thing and militaristic cultures are terrible)

>I never want to be respected by an America

You aint gotta worry about that shekleburg. People are becoming increasingly negative of Israel.

>chairforce

I would expect this much. You guys are civilians in a uniform.

I got paid to sit on my ass for a few years
I'd say that's a good deal

wtf i hate usa now

I've heard the Air Force is basically full of hyper-Christians now, like the only way to advance is to be seen in chapel. Was someone pulling my leg?

I already knew that. I just wasn't surprised you have nothing to be proud of.

Yes, you got bamboozled

No bully pls.

I'm a fedora, so no. At least not with what I saw

I'm just not proud of the consumerism that surrounds Memorial and Veteran's day. If we're going to have a day dedicated to soldiers, make it about soldiers, not trips to the fucking store

You are literally calling it a holiday

What the fuck?

Are Americans unable to express any emotion other than the joy of taking out your credit card?

I think we're using different definitions of holiday.

What do you have against paying by credit card? Is it the interest?

I agree. Memorial day is BBQ day now. I guess that is every holiday now.

What possible definition of uoliday would include grieving?

We learned from the best

For most, yes. It's unfortunate.

>Watch the skies, General. We're going to put on an air show!

Memorial day is called a holiday because it is nationally recognized. Halloween is not a holiday for example.
