Is F.lux kill?

Is F.lux kill?

Hopefully

Winbabbies turn on their night light and mac adults go in for their night shift.

Was unusable for me when I tried it. Only one of my monitors changed temperature automatically when it got dark. Only when I manually dragged the color temp slider did the primary monitor suddenly update its color temp.

Sounds like typical winshit

>transitions in 2s rather than have option of up to 1 hour
Yeah it's shit. Still going to use f.lux

Not that guy, but I ran it on linux for a while and it was buggy as fuck

Is there an OS where it's actually stable and reliable?

i dont get it. blue light is comfy.

no but it is placebo

What the fuck are you babbling on about?
This is a Windows only software made by Microsoft.
Are you talking about GNOME Night Light, a redshift clone integrated into GNOME since 3.24?
If so, yes, it's trash. Just like everything GNOME touches.

Freebsd is but you get barely any hardware support and porting software can be tough.

Not until they set the ability to change the transition time.

lmao f.lux on suicide watch again

You're joking, right? Sarcasm is sometimes hard to detect
>FreeBSD
People still use that? I thought they'd all been arrested by now

Not on windows 7 machines.

It's true, though.
It barely eliminates any blue light.
Night Shift is normie-friendly. Seeing piss-yellow would put most of those retards off.

Only things like F.Lux, Redshift and such actually shift in to the redder range properly.

I stopped using these things once I calibrated my monitor because f.lux didn't handle it properly. Disabling it wouldn't drop back to calibrated profile properly.

I just use a dark skin with white text on everything.

people who still (current year) use f.lux over redshit are beyong help

The gnome implementation works fine

but he's right

>all those people ITT complaining that F.lux doesn't work on Linux

Just use redshift on Linux mane

Doesn't work on Wayland. X11 is botnet.

Redshift for Windows is very unstable.

GNU/Linux*

t. greg barbosa

No

>people ITT complaining that F.lux doesn't work on Linux
One person?

It's probably great and useful. I never tried it but I use redshift and I think it's comfy.

> Linux gets redshift in 2011
> Applel decides to copy it in 2017
Macfags will claim Apple invented it

blue light is C O M F Y af

>Macfags will claim Apple invented it
Who invented Nightshift if Apple didn't?
The Flux guy says they aren't the same.

Tried to intall redshift and f.lux on my VB ubuntu 16.04 it does not work

Redshift installs but no controll window opens & no color change

I cant even open f.lux

Help

type $ redshift in terminal

Fuck, i found the solution for your very exact problem on some obscure forum back in 2014. I'll post it when i get back home mane.

>but no controll window opens
Go back to Windows

Not late at night.

this tbqh, it's a console application and if you can't read a man page you're retarded

>redshift -O 10000

redshift-gtk

gives you a nice tray icon you can click to turn it on or off.

>Not editing registry values to make it darker than the program will allow at all times

>Not living in a darkroom and having superior melatonin production

Why do people fall for this meme time and time again?

I have zero issues going to sleep after shitposting for hours on a default YotsubaB (worksafe blue) style board.

Are you really so fucking retarded to not go to sleep when you need to go to sleep to wake up for work or something? Or that you can't take some melatonin once every few weeks on those nights you have trouble sleeping after lying in bed for 30 minutes?

Like god damn. If you're really that sensitive to blue light the right answer is turning off the displays an hour before sleeping rather than using some fucking meme placebo software to make your screen piss yellow or carlonduty strawberry jam colored.

No it's more like
>Daytime has white light in the room, and monitor matches that
>NIghttime has no light/warmer indoor lights, and monitor switches to that

agree that it doesn't do shit in terms of sleep. But it does make the screen easier on the eye at night.

This...
Especially when you look at a screen all day

it's comfy af...

I use it for comfy, not sleepy

Although i've just heavily debated getting those Gunnar Optiks

Pretty much, yeah. iOS has it, Android is getting it, Windows 10 has it, the GNOME desktop on Linux has it, I assume macOS has it?

There's features for this baked into just about everything now, F.lux is pretty much done.

I've used it for years and never had a single problem.

Flux is literally a reddit program. Why the fuck would you want a piss filter on your screen? Redshift is objectively better.

No automatic sunset-sunrise activation?

See

F.lux is a toddler toy anyways.

>Although i've just heavily debated getting those Gunnar Optiks

Really, they're just an yellow filter, that's it. I have a pair of 10€ glasses from when I played airshit, they do the same fucking thing.
