He spent $350 on a 1070

>he spent $350 on a 1070
>he didn't save himself $100 and buy a 1060 or 480
>not using that saved money to buy an i7

most games look great on high settings, why spend $100 for 15 fps and slightly better graphics?

Get a real job and move out.

p rude

dumb lewdposter

We have money to spend and we buy what we want, so fuck off poorfag if you complain about what people spend it on

>Playing games at all

Who the actual fuck are you quoting?

Because a card running high settings now, will be running things on medium settings 2 years from now.

The 1070 will still be running on things on high 2 years from now.

Might as well use this thread.
Which manufacturer for the coolest/quietest 1070?

MSI.

Been using MSI. Quietest cooler I've had, evga is really loud in my experience

I am going to have to ask you to delete this.

>He bought an Intel i* or ryzen processor
>He didn't buy a g4560

Can't hear you over the sound of my stacks of cash I saved

But for real though why buy a better processor?
A 1070 allows me a practical benefit of having higher fps or higher settings, while my CPU is almost never the limiting factor, even on a 144hz screen it's always been the GPU that is ultimately the limiting factor (or hyperthreading adds very little performance in a specific game)
My CPU was enough, my GPU wasn't
Why upgrade CPU?

y-you too

u got the money, asus strix. if not asus dual or msi. ignore the evga meme.

I come here just for this post.

But I bought an i7 with my 1080 anyway

i jewd out and bought the russian version of nier and then valve must've caught wind of my VPN usage and now see my VPN IP as not russian (。>﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏

That's why I spent $1550 on 2 1080 Tis and an HB SLI bridge OP.

Because I'm not a poor NEET.

This guy had it right.

because this 1070 came in white

keep it in your containment thread

Looking at your PC parts doesn't make them run faster.

I don't understand this meme. I have a real job and I've moved out and I have less money to expend on technology than I had when I was living with my parents and working a part time job.

I'll just use this thread since my graphics card just died. Should I go with the Gigabyte GTX 750 Ti or the EVGA GTX 960? Upgrading from my EVGA GTX 560 Ti.

how much money do you want to spend? what are you using it for and at what resolution? do you have a power supply that can accommodate 6/8 pin power on a gpu?

Damn. Why is Maki so perfect?! Also how is everyone defragging their compiled syntax shells? I can't seem to be able to shift the vector files properly.

No more than $150
Some basic gaming at a 1080 resolution (Would like 60 fps high settings, but can do 45 fps medium settings)
Yes

Think like Left 4 dead 2 and Dead Space being some of the average games I play.

I don't like games anymore though

I'd suggest either a 960 or RX 470 for that price range. Just see what you can find. A 750Ti is basically a sidegrade.

But I bought a 1080 for $385 after taxes last November and have an i7 already.

Yeah but the 1060 doesn't handle VR well.
Also, muh futureproofing

>why spend $100 for 15 fps and slightly better graphics?
Because I could OP

my blade's got a 7700q and 1060 gtx everything looks perfectly fine THIS is the future of gayman

>"i5 is fine for gayming" they said
>have to OC mine to 4.5GHz in order to get the same performance out of my 1080 as an i7 gets out of a 1070

>Why spend more money on a better experience

I genuinely don't understand the question.

>1070
>cant handle 1440p
>redundant for 1080p
Why does it exist?

Because it wont be redundant for 1080p within a year

>he didn't get a 1080 ti and an i7 because he's a poorfag

>tfw too much of a waitcuck to get a 1080ti right now

I know exactly how retarded it is since Volta probably isn't even coming this year and at best we'll get a half-step refresh in September or some shit but I just can't do it lad

>it wont be redundant for 1080p within a year
>what are gaming consoles
>what is public demand for 4k gaming and 144fps

My bet is that 580/1060 will be rocking 1080p for years.

Vega will make them drop prices, if not completely outclass them.

But... I actually did that. I got RX480 and i7-6700k, but everyone was laughing at me and telling me I should be reasonable and buy 1080 with i3, because "i3 is enough for current games", no matter that I dont use PC solely for games and that my previous cpu, i5-750, lasted for 6 years and I dont want to replace cpu and mobo with it every year or two.

Hug me, Sup Forums ;_;

Not usually one for feet, but that's pretty hot, the butt makes it

>not just opting for 1080
Are you even trying?
144hz 1440p monitor master race.

I did get a 1060 and I see no need to upgrade my i5-2500k.
>tfw saved 100$

How the fuck does this happen? The 1070 is only 25% more expensive than the rx 480 in my country, that makes no sense.
