I'm installing Windows XP on a 2011 MBP. Roast me.

something something that's unsupported upgrade to Windows(R) 10(TM) goy something something

Extended support for XP ended in 2014, so you should be fine, bro.

That's really disgusting

nice vm

Not a VM.

"No"

You too.

Fuck. I don't have the other disc.

still a better lovestory than twilight

For what purpose?

He can't upgrade his OS

For fun. Also because Mac OS X is shit, Linux won't boot, and I don't have any discs bigger than 700MB. Already tried Haiku and React OS on it.

Don't need to, that macbook will roast your nuts anyways

Why don't you just take out the HDD and install W7 over usb/dvd/lan in some other machine, configure it to boot to oobe and put the drive in the MBP? then install whatever driver you need/find there

You're not wrong. I tried to compile a small C program with GCC on it and it sounded like a helicopter taking off.

Anyways, I went on TBP and grabbed some drivers, burned them to a second disc, and now XP is installing fine.

I've tried and when you try to resize the HFS boot partition from outside of OS X, it fails to boot and at that point you have to fuck around with dd to recover the data and it's just painful. I also don't take my computers apart unless it's for maintenance or repairs.

Wow... this is shitty. I'm gonna try to install Debian again.

looks like you just need video drivers or to just change the resolution

I'm not even going to bother. They probably don't exist for this machine.

2011 was the last year for xp support for the Pro download bootcamp drivers

literally how hard is it to google "intel HD 3000 driver windows xp"

Only 7 and 8 are supported in bootcamp. I'm pretty sure it won't work.

>google
botnet

have you tried putting the OS on a pen drive instead of burning a disk

kys

Too hard considering I won't be keeping XP.

Yeah. Mac EFI is shit and won't boot from flash drives.

Keep er lit user, you're doing God's work

y tho?

Stupidity thwarted by forgetfulness

Nah, I got it installed.

See

you're doing it wrong

my iMac always booted from flash drives without a problem

I tried both USB A ports and the SD slot. I hold down the option key and the EFI boot menu comes up as you can see here It only boots from the optical drive.
