>GNOME

You are not fooling anyone Red Hat shill.

looks like shit m8

still better than the abomination that is spyware 10 though

gnome3 will never look this good

you do know ubuntu is moving to gnome by default next year right?

outdated garbage

But it will never be as fucking fast as the one and only...

xfce wayland when

i guess having taste is outdated

Yes and so I will be moving away from Linux and back to Windows because GNOME is unsuable garbage and the developers are assholes.

>tfw you used xfce for years but recently started using a hidpi display for your computing and your only options for proper, consistent UI scaling are kde plasma 5, gnome 3, and unity. because everything else looks like garbage on a hidpi screen OOTB and requires too much tinkering to get right

missing the glorious comfiness of xfeces :(

Everything after this was unnecessary and detrimental. Gnome 3 is Form over Function.

>using a file manager that is even less functional than the one in windows

enjoy your literal botnet and forced updates

>form over function
literally everything is simpler:
super > start typing app name > open app
move mouse to top left to show open apps

vs.

navigate archaic menu hierarchies to finally misclick and open a different app

>flat bloatware garbage
>ever

Better than use garbage with 0 day exploits like systemd and a cancerus UI.

Also you can disable automatic updates in LTSB but you know what? I still rather use WIndows home basic than Fedora or Ubuntu GNOME that's how shitty it is.

is this the new desktop thread

>blurry letters

Worked for me. I'm using a tiling wm these days. Wherever a program has a gnome3 inspired gui though, it's terrible. They hide all the important functionality.

I'm a Linux casualfag and I just installed Ubuntu since my computer was kill. Is there a way I can get Google Drive on this? I know, jewgle, but Drive is actually pretty convenient for all I use it for.

dude you use a tiling wm and talk shit about GNOME hiding functionality

literally wtf are you talking about

LOL you got me there. :-)

But I mean gnome3 hides it in a way that's hard to get to. In awesomewm, you define your own behavior. And I've defined mine to be very easy to access.

This unironically looks fucking awful

I feel like there might be a way to do it through the browser, since Google really loves the idea of everything being a webapp on their chromebooks...

But really don't. Stop using Google.

>There is no Drive app for Linux at this time. Please use Drive on the web and on your mobile devices.

no it looks good its just that ur a bad taster

>Bright don't on bright background

LMAO you not only have bad taste, but also vision problems. I am sorry about that .

>no ur a bad taster
son i said it first u cant do that

Just yesterday I put xubuntu on my work laptop which is connected to a 4k display at home and goddamn everything is so fucking tiny by default.

what do I need to use to actually get it to behave halfway decent? just switch xfce for something else?

wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/HiDPI#Xfce

you can also use xrandr's scale option

Wow, Unity is kill?

> ubuntu is moving to gnome
Eww. Well, it's not like I planned on using Ubuntu anyway.

>guys GNOME is actually awesome, just download these 20 extensions to make it work correctly
>gnome update rolls out
>everything breaks
>naultius loses even more features
>wtf guys just wait until the extensions get updated, don't be so entitled
>extensions just get abandoned

There are HiDPI options under Display in System Settings.

>minimalism
>good

the only extension i use is dash to dock and it has worked fine for the last ~4 years

default gnome is the best

fuck off with your elementaryos

>default gnome
>changes app launcher

Why couldn't Ubuntu just go with KDE? Fuckin hell anything but GNOME.

more like
>default GNOME
>dynamic panel transparency
>alternate applications menu
>probably has dash to dock hidden somewhere.

Because KDE 5 is buggy and still not at feature parity with KDE 4, while Gnome 3 is relatively mature and stable.

>os 10
Geez grandpa, get with the times. It's officially been renamed MacOS ages ago.

Yas

The only thing 'good' about your image is the wallpaper

Being this much of a faggot and not trying out tiling wm like i3 that works well for hidpi.

Best way to have a frameless photo slideshow with randomisation on my desktop? (Debian)

Also, any way to make Chromium aesthetic?

Themes fucking suck.

wtf I love Ubuntu now

>this one feature is easier to use so obviously everything else is better as well
>also Gnome Do never existed

Literally kill yourself.

What, you think the KDE devs aren't equally retarded?

you know no one is forcing gnome on you, you can just install unity again

hyp

Is this any good for daily use?

when?

>DWARF
Never

Not worth waiting

Install Solus

That looks like shit.

and it's still the best looking OS

>totally transparent panels and dock
>file manager with hamburger menu because it doesn't know how to use a toolbar or a global menu

I hope that maximizing a window on that obscures the wallpaper behind the bars, otherwise it's going to look like dog shit

Transparent top bar = grand autismo

At this rate, around 2025.
