Why is it happening? I asked my Venezuelan ex but she is too dumb to give a proper explanation

Socialists "revolutionaries" tried to take over a few decades ago, with Chavez. Didn't manage to do it militarily, but managed to win democratically. The right tried to intervine with a coup in 2002 but failed, strengthening the legitimacy of the socialists and allowing the paranoid far-leftists to make more and more radical policies.

Venezuela began slowly morphing into a South American Cuba. Their economy became shit because socialists are retarded with money. Oil prices went down so their economy is now virtually melting away, people have to wait long hours to buy basic goods, etc. The left is struggling to stay in power and is pointing fingers to everyone but themselves, even starting to deport colombians for no apparent reason. The country is in the verge of civil war.

>Venezuela began slowly morphing into a South American Cuba

Cuba is better than much of Latin America so I don't know what you're saying.

>Their economy became shit
they took millions of people out of poverty. but hey cnn told you there's no toilet paper it must be true!

>The country is in the verge of civil war.
Is it really? I know it's really bad there rn but I think even the commies are ready to dump Maduro to save themselves.
Their economy IS shit, you don't need to watch cable news to understand that

>cuba is better than much of Latin America
A few very impoverished central american countries. Cuba was also very rich before their socialist coup, one could say much richer.

I don't need CNN to understand that their economy dropped 7% this year. Peru's right wing government also took "millions of people out of poverty" just by the fact that their econmomy grew a lot. But you can listen to Unasur tv about social policies being sacred.

Not even close, they're going through a huge economic crisis right now (because of the price drop of oil + no more economic aid from Venezuela) and they can barely afford food.

t. Argie who has been to Cuba twice

> I know it's really bad there rn but I think even the commies are ready to dump Maduro to save themselves.
That's what they will probably do. But if they do that, the opposition will end up gaining a lot of power. I'd say there will probably be new elections and the commies will seek amnesty

Venezuela is fine, you're just eating up capitalist propaganda. Hell, it was probably paid for by Sh*llary to sabotage Bernie's chances in California.

>Cuba was also very rich before their socialist coup, one could say much richer.

This is objectively wrong.

Also, are you ignoring the complete isolation America put on Cuba for 60 years? We even forced Latin America to do the same until 1991.

Except objective statistics show you are wrong. GDP growth accelerated to 4% YoY in Q1.
Lies lies lies.

Do you like making up shit?

Just sharing what I saw and what Cubans told me.

>This is objectively wrong.
nice argument. tell me, how poor was Cuba compared to the rest of latin america before your socialist heroes took over? It was by far one of the richest countries on the continent.

>re you ignoring the complete isolation America put on Cuba for 60 years?
Cuba had the USSR watching their backs for most of those 60 years. Too bad the soviets fell. Probably also because of americans isolating them or mucking up their goverment with filthy capitalist propaganda. Those filthy imperialist scum, always ruining progressive states!

pointless. I've talked to those people before and they think everything negative about socialist governments is a capitalist conspiracy. They are like Sup Forumsacks, but left-wing and faggier

Why isn't it "Venezualese"?

Why isn't it canadelese? Better yet, change it to Leafland

Oh well. Can't really blame them though, they've never experienced any sort of heavy socialism in USA before so it's understandable that they don't know how unstable it can be.
