Battle of Skylines 2016 // Group B

1st for /balt/

gibs me dat pic of guangzhou

And I'm really not sure who to vote for this time around

>And I'm really not sure who to vote for this time around
Guangzhou

...

I'll wait for you to dump the batch for each cities. I don't actually know any of these too well.

Bangkok, Thailand

...

Guangzhou is fucking huge

Guangzhou, China

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Sydney, Australia

Guangzhou is in many ways da best, but I'll give KL a vote.

The Petronas Towers are just that nice. They kind of look like modern-day church spires.

fresh pic I took today

new renders of the Lilium Tower

...

>this wasn't the final design
Still looks decent, though maybe a bit bulky. Doesn't look its height.

Pretty fresh

What do you use to take pictures with?

atleast they didn't go with this

kek

Doesn't look all that bad, though it wouldn't fit in at all. Looks like something straight out of China.

canon 40D with the kit lens

out of all these new projects in warsaw i just hope atleast this one will get built

that thing is just begging birds and planes to fly into it.

Round towers all look fucking terrible.
Literally the only exception is Shanghai Tower.

10/10 would fight combine in.

Not true. Rounded towers are based.

I'd call Shanghai Tower a "twisted tower" not a "rounded one"

>Sydney got 5 votes

Guangzhou has he best skyline, but i tactially voted for KL desu.

yes I will probably vote for KL aswell

it'd be such a shame if it didn't make it through

...

Is this montage legit? Are all these towers actually planned/being build?

if it only had some more towers, it has some 500+ U/C though afaik

I think the 600m ones mostly got cut down in size or have been put on hold, but there are currently 12 300m or taller towers under construction.

>planned
they can't be "planned" that doesn't necessarily mean they are going to be built

all the Shenzhens megatalls are only proposed, so basically nothing is confirmed

it does have like 10 supertalls U/C though

>mfw no one even cares anymore about new supertall in Shenzhen

Honestly anything under 450 is pretty mediocre nowadays.

well 450 is still pretty tall but no one cares anymore about 300-400

it depends on the location though, obviously no one is getting excited over a new supertall in China/Dubai but here in Poland even 200+ is nice

>Sydney is still leading over KL

atleast BK got it's vote : ^)

I voted Bangkok

it won't be like in the last year r-right?

Kuala Lumpur

Vancover's skyline isnt that great but its heaven-tier environmental surroundings are impossible to ignore. Why people probably give it the edge.

Petronas Towers are a globally recognizeable icon of skyscraper, nice mountains(which obviously aren't "skyline") in the background of homogenous Vancouver's skyline don't make up for that

Gotta also take into account that most of the users here are westerners that have more of a personal relationship with western cities than Asian ones, thus voting for what feels homely to them.

>again blocked for "violating the rule 1 respectful discussion of cultures"
this board is becoming reddit

>Gotta also take into account that most of the users here are westerners that have more of a personal relationship with western cities than Asian ones, thus voting for what feels homely to them.
I get that but voting on Vancouver over iconic Kuala Lumpur is just plain stupid

it's like me voting on Warsaw over Moscow

maybe don't shitpost so much :^)

this is what I was blocked for I guess
I don't really know how does it even justify any block/ban

anyway

why Switzerland is so fucking perfect?

FOR U

>didn't even delete the thread
gg mods

Mods are at least doing shit.

I prefer random and inaccurate moderating compared to pure anarchy.

Put the fear in the Australian's heart.

Also, anyone notice that Australian shitposting recently settled down some?

>Also, anyone notice that Australian shitposting recently settled down some?
Perhaps, but with it Canadian shitposting took a rise, which is a million times worse.

...

>Also, anyone notice that Australian shitposting recently settled down some?
they got khan'd

I think the Australian shitposting group (there's 3-4 that are dedicated trolls who work together) became Canadians.

I have a feeling that the Battle of Skylines killed half of the /urban/ population (fossil posting one)

Nice. Got more? How is Yokohama in general?

Very nice. Incredibly urban, just like all japanese cities. Amazing how many shops are everywhere, in all the hidden corners.
Pic is the only time I really saw Mt. Fuji, but just it's silhouette.

...

I imagine Guangzhou smells like shit.

So I picked Sydney. Also for it's harbour structure.

Pic related, Sydney Skyline in the future.

I like these new Hyundais
