It's great that the students are trying to broaden their horizons, but I believe this is the wrong way of going about this. Just suggest that other authors be studied as well.
The reason those people were studied in the first place is because their works have stood the test of time, and still appeal to people today.
I believe that simply because they were white male scholars (which admittedly gave them an advantage) does NOT mean that their work should be discredited. It is studied for a reason. Let me know what you guys think.
