Alternative to Ubuntu

What's the next pleb thing for someone wanting to switch? Mint?

exherbo

Mint

Solus

Mint probably

Fedora. The working man's distro

Manjaro

Mint

Alright, seems like it's Mint then.
Thanks, guys!

I tried going from Ubuntu to mint, and went straight back to Ubuntu. I'd suggest trying a live disk first.

Been running mint for a few months on my "work" laptop. Works pretty well and haven't run into ny major issues yet.

Mint

Fedora

what was the reason?

i remember mint being pretty good years ago, probably got better since then. it'd be what i'd run if i wasn't already comfy in my mac os. well, either mint or fedora.

which one? cinnamon, m8, xfce or kde?

is it true that kde is the most bloated one and xfce outdated and almost dead?

It felt too much like windows, and I became too well adjusted to Ubuntu. Figured if I'm sticking with Linux I should upgrade to a "real" distro, not just go from one version of babies first Linux to another.

I'm thinking of going with fedora, I tried it out shortly acouple years ago and remember liking it.

ah, thanks for the explanation.
well I don't mind it feeling too windows so I guess it will be perfectly fine for my needs.

that's what cats do best though

ubuntu network installer
build your own environment

just install openbox on any distro.

If you want to develop career-related skills then try something like CentOS.
A lot of servers and computer networks run either that or something effectively identical (RHEL).
Debian is good, too.

good idea

It's still technically ubuntu, but I'm having an absolutely wonderful time with Lubuntu.

Install. Gentoo.

This maymay is quite persistent
