openlauncher
Aaron Hall
>openlauncher What does it do exactly?
Joseph Collins
a simple launcher that just works. I replaced nova with this
Jackson Bailey
It just provide grids on which you place shortcuts or apps?
Juan Cooper
Just wanted to point out ones that i don't see, there's no point posting clover 100 times, can't be have a wiki page for this? >Feeder Rss app >kore Remote for kodi >usb mountr I can't tell how much amazing this program is, you know you have to download a iso, burn it to usb to try a linux disto; just download the iso with your phone and use your phone to boot, no wait for burning the image! >amaze good file manager >my expenses money management app with paid option >libretorrent torrent client >omni notes foss notepad app, but lighter alternatives available it's a nova alternative, it's also first FOSS launcher that supports icon packs too I guess
Cooper Garcia
If you ask what a launcher does, it replaces/tweaks the app drawer, dock and home screen
Owen Hill
I use "Search Based Launcher", and it has nothing in common with the traditional launcher. That's why I use it.
Isaiah Myers
Does anyone have a good file browser to rec?
Jacob Foster
>you have to download a iso, burn it to usb
Luis Perez
F-Droid is funny
I love it and use it exclusively as my alternative to the Google Playstore on my Cyanogenmod tablet that has no google services.
But I would feel uncomfortable recommending that setup for a child's tablet because F-Droid has a number of porn apps in its repository and I don't want the blame to be on me if a kid opts to install and use them.
One such porn app on F-Droid that I like using myself is NHBooks.
Liam Bailey
Openlauncher is like an opensource nova alternative (or at least this is what they wanna be). It still has bugs but for me, its ok for simple everyday use. Check it on github.

Anyone got a good keyboard? I don't like anysoft or hackers. I'd like the AOSP which I used to have but after an update to android 7 it got replaced with gboard.
It's a bit buggy. Last time I used it the date didn't change automatically and I don't like that they changed the app drawer widget to a search bar.
I've been using Hayai recently which just werks although I'd like to be able to remove the search bar.
Elijah Ross
Question for 7.0, how in the fuck do I actually get AdAway working? Even tried systemless mode, doesn't work.
Anthony Morales
My phone has truecaller as the default dialer. I downloaded a Google dialer apk but is there a simple open source one I could use instead? I couldn't find any on f-droid
Daniel Rogers
Works for me, which rooting app are you using?
Asher Morgan
Are there online maps for osmand? I'd rather not have to download absolutely everything I might need.
Ethan Anderson
Never mind, this time instead if using the AdAway app normally, I installed the 2.9 version and flashed the systemless apk. Works fine now.
Lincoln Hughes
Since there's no Android general, I'll ask here. On Nougat, is there any alternative to XPrivacy? Used to love this thing, except the xposed framework isn't a thing on nougat yet. Experiencing first hand how bullshit apps require bullshit permissions like location, call recording etc when they have nothing to do with those mentioned (and many more) instances, I'd like to limit this as much as possible.
Hudson Ward
Just embrace the botnet user; everything has hardware backdoors anyways.
Josiah Gray
Can't you just do that from the settings?
Angel Thomas
You can use lucky patcher do disable permissions.
Logan Cooper
Adaway Clover OpenVPNforAndroid DNS66 (for using dnscrypt + adblocking)

Andrew Morgan
googleplay is the malware repository though
Christopher Nelson

How do you do it? Everytime I try to start the dnscrypt init.d job on mine the whole OS hangs.
It's a Xiaomi Redimi Note 3 running LineageOS.
Brandon Mitchell
>tfw Sup Forums talks like they know all the shitz about smartphones but install outdated bloat-crap anyway

Yup.

> xposed framework isn't a thing on nougat yet Well shit. I've literally wanted to try nougat today but I use AppSettings to change locale for certain apps.

fdroid.org/wiki/page/org.gnu.icecat >52.0.2 We can't build this version: The build for this version was manually disabled. Reason: requires new hg?
Have they given up on Icecat now as well?
Kayden Edwards
Fuck man i didn't even know there were apps to browse nhentai without dealing with chromium's bullshit, here is another good "porn" app i use.
>Nori
booru client, yes it works with absolutely all the boorus, a bit barebones but it's still serviceable
Animeboxes was my go to for this shit until they shifted entirely to iOS, ifag toys gotta have their ups i guess, they can't play webms without VLC after all.

What's the best app for playing music on Android?
Google Play is fucking shit with all the market integration and navigation, and it can't display images embedded in FLAC or v0 metadata, which triggers me, and Winamp has been pulled from the market. God fucking damn it, back in the Android 4.4 days you just had a fucking normal stock music player that was slick and easy to navigate with no bullshit attached.
Why is there no Android general anyways?
Isaac Collins
Vanilla
Kayden Sullivan
Foobar
Christopher Wood
Spotify
Connor Torres
Probably Vanilla Music. There's also a fork of the old stock music player and it's in F-Droid called Music with a blue logo.
Amaze. Solid explorer is good but only on play store
Jaxson Gutierrez
Newpipe, Calendar, Vanilla Music and Loop are my favourite ones at the moment.
James Myers
tried Vanilla Music but it can't detect any files on my phone. The fuck
Christian Baker
I'm on Ubutu Touch, but since it is kill I'll be moving to Lineage not using Gapps. Wire is still not on F-Droid but at least they have an apk on their website.
