I advise any windows users to install linux on an external hd right now before it's it too late. Thank you and goodnight.

Is that skynet about to launch?

I have the same genuine question, explain the sudden call to action OP.

>stacks upon stacks of CRT monitors
>computer, drives and other shit hanging from the ceiling

What's going on here? Who and "for what purpose(tm)" would arrange a setup like this?

n o s t a l g i a
combined with
b e i n g p o o r

I don't see how nostalgia or being poor would call for that many monitors (not even a matter if CRT or not) stacked on top of each other, and it surely doesn't explain all the shit suspended from the ceiling. Why would anyone do this?

It's so they can LARP about living in a cyberpunk dystopia.

holy fuck, really what does all this mess do? I mean yeah its cool to have a lot of tech/spare parts but come on, organize that shit. I'm honestly surprised it works or the whole fucking thing hasn't caught on fire. (probability did not long after pic was taken). I bet the static electricity flow is pretty high at any rate.

Gee, this is only the 10th "install linux or else l33t haxorz come for you" post on the catalog right now.

>what does all this mess do?
gets (you)s

>wd green

it makes a good movie setting for your hacker character.

PRESENT DAY PRESENT TIME HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

lain A E S T H E T I C

its someone's room stop fucking judging what they live like you fucking redditard

Lol what? Why would it be too late? Also, if im stuck on linux after, why even bother? Time to find a new hobby.

...

>all those NICs and Ethernet cards on the shelf

>NICs and Ethernet cards
>ethernet cards aren't NICs and therefore must be listed separately

ikea can't beat this comfyguration.

I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.

Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called "Linux", and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project.

There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use. Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine's resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called "Linux" distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux.

Hoarder detected

fukkin make me, kid

Imagine the noise of all those hard drives spinning above your head.

2/3 of those CRTs are clearly not even plugged in.

I'm terribly sorry for interjecting another moment, but what I just told you is GNU/Linux is, in fact, just Linux, or as I've just now taken to calling it, Just Linux. Linux apparently does happen to be a whole operating system unto itself and comprises a full OS as defined by POSIX.

Most computer users who run the entire Linux operating system every day already realize it. Through a peculiar turn of events, I was misled into calling the system "GNU/Linux", and until now, I was unaware that it is basically the Linux system, developed by the Linux project.

There really isn't a GNU/Linux, and I really wasn't using it; it is an extraneous misrepresentation of the system that's being used. Linux is the operating system: the entire system made useful by its included corelibs, shell utilities, and other vital system components. The kernel is already an integral part of the Linux operating system, never confined useless by itself; it functions coherently within the context of the complete Linux operating system. Linux is never used in combination with GNU accessories: the whole system is basically Linux without any GNU added, or Just Linux. All the so-called "GNU/Linux" distributions are really distributions of Linux.

Is drives hanging down on cables a supported and standard-compliant configuration?

Is the Thinkpad a W500? The CRT in top middle seems to be a HP-branded version of the Sony FW900. What is the keyboard, some "gaymurr" shit or something reasonable?

hahaha that dlink on the ceiling
