Nice.

useless

okay

Console peasant?

Been holding out on an upgrade for a while. What's the response time?

you forgot
>$1000++ goybucks

scaling is still bad on windows and steam does not support it
4k at 27" is not smart without scaling

Would've bought if it were freesync

oh well, they don't want my money so whatever

Not the guy you replied to. Though I have to say, 4k on anything sub 30" seems silly unless you want a retina monitor. I'd rather have something like, 34" at 4k.

4k is too small of a resolution for 27", you need at least 5k for retina like dpi. Also the stand for the monitor looks gay as hell.

hi res + comparatively small physical size + many programs still scaling very poorly if at all

I'm waiting for a ultrawide 4k 35" 144hz 1ms freesync hdr monitor to upgrade

Anyone think there'll be one by 2020?

it'll have shit backlighting plus ghosting and image retention

Give me a smaller monitor at 1080p with those tech.

>pure white
>deep black

>>gsync

>Anyone else holding out to upgrade?
Yup, been waiting to upgrade since forever... I'm currently using a 40" Samsung TV (no input lag though), so I hope there will be some decent monitors of the same size. I'm also still using a first gen i7 and a gtx560ti. It's upgrade time for me soon, finally...

>being a retard who thinks 144hz is gaymen only

>retina
I'm amazed how well the applel marketing department works... all those brainwashed fgts

What are you talking about? Any DP 1.3 card can output 4K at 120hz, probably squeeze out 144hz as well.

144hz if you compromise on picture quality

>no 21:9

dropped

I was hoping it would be, but I'm definitely going to be holding out.

>Forced eye tracking
>27 inches
>Estimated price of 2k

Just wait for the next generation next year or so.

Response time is practically meaningless. You should try testing your response time.

>Try and find 4K HDR monitors
>Most of them are G-Sync

>Try and find a 4K 144hz monitor
>Most of them are G-Sync

Fuck Nvidia. The prices for G-Sync monitors are way too high. I don't even need it for anything, nor do I need Freesync, but if the choice is between the two, Freesync all the way.

Speaking of which, are there any 4K HDR 144hz monitors?
And if not, any (good) 4K HDR monitors with proper connections? I know LG has one, but it costs 1200€ here in Finland.

Dell has another one, 27 inches, HDR and 4K, but for some reason it doesn't even have a DP connection. It would be perfect if it would have one, but it doesn't.

Dell almost had the perfect monitor but they neutered it.

30"/4K/OLED - it was supposed to be 120hz but the release version is only 60hz :(

Shit is gonna be way too expensive cause gsync tax

Im holding out for at least oled

its amds fault. no high end freesync graphics cards.

less blur

>asus
>gsync
REEEEEEEE

I like 4K at 27", on 1080 I can see the pixels at around 0.5m and the text doesn't look as sharp, mind you this is on a 24" display I have.
On a 4K 27" I can still notice a fine grain pattern at around half a meter but it is far less prominent, you'd have to stick your face 10cm away to notice individual pixels.

For browsing the scaling is good enough for me I sit pretty damn close anyway less than half a meter away.
If worse comes to worst I can easily change scaling when web browsing with ctrl+scroll wheel.
As for video games, some older games that support 3840x2160 text and symbols can be hard to read at a glance. Minimaps are especially troublesome if you play RTS.
Besides that it looks really neat, I think it is perfect for newer titles with good scaling as you don't need any AA at such high pixel density.

THE FUTURE'S SO BRIGHT I GOTTA WEAR SHADES

Can't wait for decent 4K OLED displays with high refresh rates, but mostly to eliminate backlight bleed. My main concern would be burn in and the longevity of OLED panels.

>steam doesn't support it
so?

It wouldn't have been worth the original $5000 price anyway.

its just an example, not many programs support scaling

most games and video editors do, which is the main appeal of 4k and 144hz.

I just want a QHD IPS monitor that does 144hz that is affordable.

>Wait years for high refresh rate IPS panels showcased at CES
>Finally hit the market with no stock at all
>Reports of horrible QC and backlight uniformity
>800 britbux
>Cheaper panels are still expensive
>Have "sexual Predator" branding and even worse QC
>G-SYNC makes these panels utterly unaffordable and horrible value

Look up the Asus MG279Q

It's exactly what you are describing.
1440p @144hz
27 inches
IPS
600€ in Finland, probably cheaper for you

I have a GTX 770 that barely works with modern G-SYNC so I doubt it would work with FreeSync, I'm quite sure G-SYNC works on OS X too.

Looking at the reviews it's a QC lottery which is absolutely ridiculous for a £500+ piece of equipment, colour accuracy on IPS panels is pretty much nullified by yellow backlight bleed which so many of these models suffer with.

Is it too much to ask for a good monitor with good QC?

It's not like you have to use gsync/freesync

I've got a freesync monitor, but I haven't used the feature even once.

Apple MacBook Pro with Retina Display already has all these

Probably because it will take an nvidia card to actually get full use of the monitor

this panel ist 3 years old

get a samsung quantum dot 1080p monitor instead, they are fairly decent for their price and will carry you until high dpi , high refreshrate hdr monitors are available

I have a MG279Q. The software is complete trash. It only gives very limited calibration options and the mode that all reviewers agree gives the best colors also adds a disgusting smudge filter to the image. On top of that enabling freesync adds noticeable input lag, so you will never actually want to use it.

You pay the premium for "IPS" (it's not actually IPS. It's VA) and Freesync, but you don't actually get the benefits. Lots of money down the drain.

So the panels still run at the advertised refresh rate without g/freesync?

>1080p
Yeah nah this isn't 2008 m8
I use two QHD panels at work so I'm kinda used to the resolution at this point.

I see, thanks for clarifying that, now I know not to buy one then

>So the panels still run at the advertised refresh rate without g/freesync?

Yes, mine has been running at 144hz since I bought it, it's some shit-tier 1080p AOC display. I have a GTX 970, so Freesync doesn't even work.

>Less blur
Response time has no effect on blur. It's refresh rate.

>goysync

Enjoy your extra $300 on the pricetag.

I will not buy a 4/8K monitor until that shit is Rec. 2020 compliant.

Went 21:9 and I...cant...go...BACK.

Seriously, I'm just holding out for that 40" Samsung unit to come down in price and then I'm snagging it.

I would've bought it in a heartbeat.
Costs a bit more than my current $2000 monitor but it would have been worth it.

Yeah, you should all wait until 2020 so we have actually affordable 1440p 144Hz shit with right colors. I hope we get 300€ for TN and 1ms and then 350€ for IPS and 4ms.

Unscaled 28" 4k master race reporting

>oledinyo the trash it goes

Asus rog monitors are always shit
This. If it were 24" Id consider it

You forgot that that shit is 2700 bucks and you need like 4 titan to get 144fps at 4k

>just holding out for that 40" Samsung unit

Good thing the people interested in this aren't poor! Man that would suck.

>2000 €
>1080Ti only reaches 40 FPS in current titles

Is there an IPS monitor that does 120-144hz and doesn't have terrible QC or backlight bleed?
I don't care if it does or doesn't have freesync/gsync
Can be any resolution 1080p or higher

not everything needs to be ultra awrrinf deus ex on 4k

things like cs go run 120+ fine.

You're an idiot.

>all the good aspect ratios other than 21:9 are dead
>golden age
no

I bought a 1080 a month ago and s dell 27in 1440p 144hz gsync monitor. I loved it but took thr 1080 back to microcenter and got a 1080 ti for $629. 4k isn't worth it yet and 1080p is for plebs. 2k masterrace.

>Goysync
Well that'll be a no then

>goysync

Nope

>impying gaymen
>>Sup Forums

How are those Dell monitor?

>goyimsync
D R O P P E D

>implying you need 144hz and gsync for anything else

fuck off retard

The monitor manufacturers are literally shooting themselves in the foot

The winner this year is going to be whoever puts out a 4K 144hz 24-32" IPS or better freesync panel with vesa mounting options and a non-retarded bezel or stand for ~$700

Fucking beautiful picture and great quality. Never been a fan of Dell but I love their monitors.

price is already confirmed at about $995

Good 24" 4k monitors when?

Who the fuck knows.

They're all dead set on not giving anyone what they actually want

>4K 27"
>G-sync
>eye-tracking

It's garbage.
