Ja ja ja. Dast ich uber wirelosauch-fideleten mein kamrader.

Heil Hitler!

Mine is great, has compatibility and functionality that most others don't (unified WAN/ADSL/VDSL port, answering machine for VoIP, REGULAR DECENT UPDATES)
WiFi isn't horrific and is a DECT base station for VoIP

German/10

I bet it tries to subjugate nearby routers...

>netzwerk

I wouldn't put anything like that in my room.

Made specifically for 80 year olds to go "the internet's on the Fritz! :)"

>VDSL/ADSL

nice 2007 router you have there lad

>KEK!Box

It's good enough to browse on blacked.com I guess.

sage

Is that made by Fisher Price?

Worst fucking signal strength ever. No range. Better stand right next to it otherwise have fun with connection cuts.

Had one back in the day. Always worked. Real handy diagnostic tools as well.

>anything other than black and silver
Dropped

>Fritz!box 7490
>EUR 199,99

LMAO, for that price just get a normal non-wifi router and an ubiquiti unifi access point.

sucks ASS.

happy to no longer having to deal with that piece of shit

they work really well and you buy them for longevity and constant patches and updates without having to do anything on your own

also freeturds dont like them because they arent openwrt crapware

do the wings on the side make it more aerodynamic thereby making the wireless network waves travel faster?

Mediocre normie tech
Any decent router with Tomato or similar will perform better for less money

if you have the budget go build a simple pfsense box + ubiquiti AP

its where the antennas are in

Can it hit New York?

Take your ass somewhere and sit down before I get annoyed. I'd slam your fucking pants RIGHT THE FUCK OFF.

one of the main features of the fritz!box is the integrated telephony functionality.
that's what gives them near monopoly in Germany.
so you totally missed the topic.

also ubiquitity is shit.
releasing APs in Europe when you don't support DFS and thus hardly can use any 5GHz channels.

mein router

It looks like something that would be released and be cool looking between 1999-2005, yet it has somewhat modern specs. What is up with that?

first one was released in 2004 and they never bothered to change the design

>Anschluss

It's pretty cool

>Any decent router with Tomato or similar will perform better for less money
what's the point of having a router when you don't have any internet?

did you check the market for standalone adsl/vdsl modems lately?
it's non-existent and you kind of need the modem integrated in the router for most German ISPs due to all that vlan/ds-lite/.. shit.

then there's the voip part.
most people in Germany still want to use their phones, so you
need a separate three-port voip adapter with DECT.
again that market is non-existent.

so basically you to use some tomato router you would still need a fritzbox to act as modem and voip adapter.
that's one more device than just a fritzbox and thus not cheaper.

it's great, like most avm products.

bullshit.
one of the better ones:

Do people actually like 50s auto design?
It's fucking ugly.

>dsl
found the problem

Do Europeans like retro americana? I saw some 1950s nostalgia diners the last time I was there.

Yeah we're all huge Fallout fans.

Buy a cheap such device that can be put on bridge d mode.

Put an actual good router (e.g.: Computer running pfSense or some friendly router+ap running LEDE) behind it.

Done.

ugly af

specially tailored for the German market (integrated modem/voip)
thus without peer in the German market

I like how nowadays one box replaces 5 others.

Thinking back to all the shit you had to hook up for ISDN phone line and DSL internet 15 years ago I think it came out to about 5 or 6 things you just crammed into a cupboard with no ventialtion.

>Put an actual good router (e.g.: Computer running pfSense or some friendly router+ap running LEDE) behind it.
do you know what a router is?
pfSense is a firewall
LEDE only runs on consumershit switches that do routing in software.

fritz!box cannot replace a ntba and splitter.
that's your ISP now using the full frequency of the cable for just DSL, so there's no ISDN signal anymore that needs termination & splitting.

Are the fins antennae?

best router you can buy

>DSL
Verpiss dich, Telekomjude!

i have one; i bought it mainly for the build-in calllist

yes there are different forms of antenas

>adsl

But you are wrong, they have different versions of their hardware, USA version don't support DFS, the Europe version does support DFS with the last firmware update, at least in UAP-PRO and AC-LITE.
