In the United States, you have the removal of net neutrality, which poses a threat to browsing speeds and extortion from ISPs. In Canada you have censorship and anti-Islamophobia laws. In the United Kingdom you have the Tory party promising to create a Great British Firewall, should they be re-elected. In the EU, you have a bill that is probably going to pass that will censor what you can post on social media and require a broadcasting licence for things like YouTube and VidMe. I'm also fairly sure there are similiar talks about censorship in Australia and other Western countries. So, why is the West suddenly trying to destroy their portion of the Internet?
Literally couldn't care since none of it'll affect me here in Sweden
>inb4 babby resorting to Sup Forums maymays
Jayden Nelson
>In Canada you have censorship and anti-Islamophobia laws. for the last time, it's a MOTION you dumbshit Sup Forumstards. now a law.
Dominic Perez
(((they))) want to control information. it was inevitable
Josiah Scott
not a law***
rekt myself pretty good there
Christian Ross
Not Sup Forums, but pretty sad you use that as a boogeyman.
I didn't know that, all I knew it there was an attempt at legislation. Besides, a motion like that isn't a positive. Also, try not resulting to the Sup Forums boogeyman bullshit, it is a weak strawman, be a little more original.
I agree, they, the globalists do want control. The more they control, the more they can profit.
Parker Gray
Like I said in a previous thread, China has proven that you can be an economic powerhouse without freedom.
Easton Richardson
And like I said before, we're going to turn the cyberpunk meme into a reality.
Aaron Sanchez
Because in the Eurosphere, leftists want to control speech and still call it free speech. Here in America it is the unraveling of regulation, which will not do anything since the laws were never in effect in the first place. But somehow someone on one of the sides will try to clamp down. Erasing NN regulations (which should have been LAW instead of regulation in the first place without a common carrier distinction) will not change anything about the net.
Evan Walker
>I agree, they, the globalists do want control. >The more they control, the more they can profit.
>tfw bad reviews will be categorized as hate speech and be punishable under the law
Christopher Wood
Can I bring loli doujinshi into BC Can yet?
Isaiah Butler
The solution is to move to third world countries, lads. This is it, save as much as you can and go live in the least shitty place you can of one of those countries.
Aiden Taylor
Summary execution for pressing dislike on a post about the newest globalist funded Hollyoak film.
But which one(s)?
Jonathan Gutierrez
>*Hollyoak=Hollywood
Caleb Collins
Too many people learning shit they shouldn't learn on the Internet.
Brody Green
Literally (((SHUTTING IT DOWN)))
Grayson Sullivan
Information should be freely acceptable, that is one of tenets of the Internet.
Quite literally.
Brayden Adams
Some in power want to make sure that you get the "right" information because the "wrong" information can be destructive.
Sebastian Cooper
I think they're a little too late, I think enough people already know enough of the "wrong information".
Kayden Sullivan
You should be investing in Africa. The next billion users of your app or service will be the rising middle class in Africa.
Leo Powell
This is very true, we need to extract our money from somewhere to pay for the extortionate fast lane internet access, proxies and homemade secure routers.
Robert Cooper
It's still not China, either Korea, or some commie shithole
Carter Hill
these "jews"(world leaders) want to make internet like tv
Nolan Evans
It passed like s month ago It's not a motion forever fag
Connor Young
Don't they understand that the technically aware will simply create their own network and eventually 'an Internet' of sorts.
Robert Miller
They'll be obviously illegal.
Kayden Collins
And take it over like they did with previous iteration. Or outlaw it and/or abduct the creators/important people
Samuel Thompson
And? That will not stop people, if anything, it will only serve to motivate them for "protecting freedoms".
Matthew Foster
>sweden Stay safe from Alohas, user.
Julian Taylor
Can't extort much when you're already paying massive taxes.
Bentley Anderson
>you have the removal of net neutrality
so called "net neutrality issue is just a ploy to deliver more shitty video/JS "content" virtually for free. because removal of it, is a threat to business model GOOG/FB/Netflix/amazon and others who will happily jew you out from your last cent.
btw it has happened already with introduction of DNSBLs/RBLs that make make basically impossible to run your own "honest" SMTP server without paying out of your ass for "corporate" features to GOOG/MSFT or selling your soul to yandex or QQ
ergo: you're a fucking grasroot shill without even realizing it
Jason Cox
So you think that's the last you'll be seeing of that sort of thing? They got it out of their system and it's not like more of them are coming or being born? Do you feel sovereign?
Kayden Sanders
"In the United States, you have the removal of net neutrality, which poses a threat to browsing speeds and extortion from ISPs."
False, The internet was just fine before regulation. Just like the government was fine before income tax.
Ethan Davis
Because western societies are transforming into full blown oligarchy for several. You don't want an open internet, economy etc. if you are the oligarch, what you want is privileges for your cronies and force feeding shit to the masses
David Perry
>for several for several years
Asher Morris
We still have caps and shit right now. The bill didn't do that. This was just a path for the censorship program Hillary announced.
Owen Wood
>In the EU, you have a bill that is probably going to pass that will censor what you can post on social media and require a broadcasting licence for things like YouTube and VidMe.
And what's wrong with that? Why should I give a shit about regulations on what people post on social media? They are cancer anyways.
And yes, things like Youtube should require a license. Just like Uber should get a fucking transportation license, because they're not "just an app".
So, nope, I don't see any problem in the EU with the internet.
The UK is on its way out.
Liam Cruz
More like, in the US of A, people are considered slaves who have no rights. Companies look at citizens as if they are potential slaves, not consumers with rights.
You're just a potential source of income for them. You deserve no respect. That's what an American "consumer" is.
Eli White
That's correct. Non-citizens enjoy more rights than citizens by design. Now keep advocating for more of them so we can suppress your wages. You too Europe, those refugees need our "help."
Landon Bell
Early internet and today's internet are completely different and ISPs are more aware and motivated to profit from it.
Jackson Turner
I wouldnt call it information when most of it is schizophrenic nonsense spewed by absolute degenerate retards that are better off smoking meth until they die then to spread their toxicity all over the internet.
Austin Nguyen
>it's another "smug liberal" episode
Parker Morgan
>degenerates >doesn't like porn >posts on Sup Forums >calls people degenerates >is fat fedora wearing nazi living in mommy's basement
Christian Moore
Government can't stand a place what they can't control. Corporations can't stand something they can't use for maximum profit.
Caleb Allen
>isp starts throttling peoples' internet >loses all customers wowo so hard
Nathaniel Perry
and to whom would they go? There is no competition.
