It's current year for crying out loud, why is this allowed

honeyview is botnet? I hadn't heard of this. What's the deal with it? Or is that just a meme?

>Windows
I think I know what your problem is.

feh :^)

No idea what you're talking about. sxiv is great.

>not using DoubleCmd

I think there's a "we can collect your info" line in their privacy statement agreement

Welp, guess I'll have to find another viewer. Thanks for the info, user.

can you go check it yourself first tho, I can't find that line in their online privacy statement but I have a feeling that I've seen it with my own eyes. I'd really love to be wrong because I like honeyview

>qiv

When you don't care about bloat and just want something that works.
>gwenview
When you don't care about bloat at all and also want to do simple edits like rotate and crop images.

Here's what I found; it's from the Honeyview EULA on their website:

7. AUTOMATIC COMMUNICATIONS

The Software automatically communicates with the Software servers on the Internet. Automatic communication functions are used for the software version check, license check, license registration and license management. We may work with analytics companies such as Google Analytics to help us understand how the Software is being used. You can stop all collection of information by the Software easily by uninstalling the Software.

>You can stop all collection of information by the Software easily by uninstalling the Software.
done ;^)

It's sad, isn't it. Such a good viewer, but... it's botnet.

F

I use Nomacs but it's flawed as well.
XnView is decent but probably botnet

Maybe nomacs would work, it's what I use on Windows. I don't think it'll give you a raging boner in terms of features though.

If you have a huge meem + porn image, maybe give Hydrus a spin.

Actually a good viewer for Linux.

FastStone Image Viewer
/thread

Nomacs is good.

>>JPEGview
>doesn't even save settings, such as Zoom mode
Did you try editing the config file?

Yea, I just downloaded nomacs 10 minutes ago. Seems okay, loads fast and doesn't lag like Imageglass on dragging through a zoomed picture.
I really don't need any features, just a mousewheel zoom that zooms to the pointer.
Although I don't understand why it keeps hogging the RAM after switching to another picture, it's as if it doesn't respect the cache limit setting

use the last real version of honeyview
honeyview.org/download/

Photoqt

eog is pretty cool

yes, it's the first thing I did.
I wanted to change the setting that keeps resizing the window when you zoom in and out of the picture, so I want the window to always be the same size.
I changed it in the config file, or what I assumed was the right setting for it and saved it. Ran it again and nothing. Tried that 'update settings' option but still nothing. Then I realized that you can change the zoom type from the context menu, but as soon as I click on any other type it switches back to that default one.
oh yea I forgot about this, god bless

Viewnior is the best

> FastStone Image Viewer
Not actually slow, but still operates menu/UI - wise like bloated shareware from the early 2000s.

If I wanted some viewer / basic amateur editor combo like that, I'd just about always prefer Gwenview 'cause it'll do virtually the same without the crazy UI clutter.

>sxiv
simple and scriptable, also vim keybindings in default config

I blocked it in my firewall when they added the Maps bullshit, wouldn't that stop the program from connecting to the internet? It definitely impedes it from checking/dowloading updates

I'm not going to stop using it anyways, it's literally the only decent viewer on Win 7

Nomacs

I have heard good things about Nomacs but yet to try it. Switching from honeyview.

old version seems to work just as fine, and they have no license other than "freeware, no spyware, no adware"

>what is Fast stone Viewer

ffplay

>no single-instance option in nomacs
old honeyview it is

So it seems. Works for me, then.

I use viewnior because its the only minimal image viewer that supports gifs and svgs without me doing anything.

>no single-instance option in nomacs
You sure about that? Not a dealbreaker for me but curious.

nomacs.org/redmine/issues/448
github.com/nomacs/nomacs/issues/67

> single-instance option
As in forcing Windows to only have one nomacs window open?

What would THAT ever be useful for?

Because I like to browse through my images in a file manager and open them one by one. So I really don't want to have 20 nomacs windows opened by the time I'm done

install gentoo

>he doesnt use xnview

But that's exactly like using alt-f4, then selecting the next image.

Without anything getting in the way if you DO actually want multiple images opened.

Use Viewnior

IN what version did this start being a thing? I installed it like two years ago and haven't updated, am I okay

Dunno when it started, I just know it's in the latest version. Old version posted above doesn't seem to have it.

>using fake total commander instead of the real one

Make your own. Image viewers aren't complicated.

This. Took some time to get used to it but its great.

you faggots will stop using honeyview because of MUH BOTNET

yes
problem?

Sure you edited the correct file? There's different config files for different languages, I think. Also you have to edit them as administrator.

What about nomacs?

>if it communicates with the internet it's a botnet
holy shit when did Sup Forums became such a joke? you're all fucking retards

t. botnet apologist

you can literally use WINDOWS firewall to block it if it bothers you, or are you that much of a tech illiterate? fuck off retard

Apparently. I didn't even realize until this thread.

irfanview is easily the best. zoom to mouse pointer? just drag a box around the part you want to zoom and click it. I don't zoom anyway. I hit ctrl+h if i want to view 1:1 and otherwise i fit to window or full screen.

>doesn't zoom to mouse pointer
uh, yes it does

...

>fbi
this image viewer needs more love

>>honeyview
>botnet

not an argument

What would be the closest to the old windows 7 default viewer? You know, zoom with the wheel when in full screen and navigate through pictures when windowed?

Le reddito ajajajaja

This.

I love the default Windows 7 one, except that it can't show animated GIFs. What I want is an exact clone but with GIF support.

It fucks up colors real hard... Win 7 default is trash, man.

>not using windows' built in image viewer

>winshit shit
install a real OS, fucking kiddo.

On macOS, I usee Xee^3 and built-in Preview.app. Xee can move files to folders with shortcuts so I prefer it however.

On Linux, I only use the pic related. It's by far the best one. 99% of Linux image viewers are abandonware and most are missing basic shit like "move to Trash" instead of straight-up delete. I've tried them all and this is by far the best one.

Lool.

>not using QuickPic non-botnet edition
>oh_wait.jpg
>windows
You dun goofed

geeqie

>caca
I love running videos through caca. What a fucking wonderous piece of software.

the biggest thing missing from geeqie is animated gif

gnome image viewer is my favorite

Also, since its for gnome, if I use it on plasma am I gonna have a bad time? Is this why my clipboard is all fucked up?

Why hasn't my Honeyview tried to make a single connection to the internet if it's such a botnet?

See Did you use the latest version?

Sauce for your "XnView is botnet" hearsay?

I would assume it's the latest version since I've made no effort to get an older one.
About: v5.21, build#4882, 2017/05/14

Really? It sounds like shit to me.

>>eom, eog
>gnome image viewer

Just don't open a picture that is too large or it will crash. It's not a ram issue. It's a bug. Here is a picture that will cause it and the bug report.

Use viewnior.

>tfw honeyview now knows along with over 100 advertisers that i look at images of traps every night before i go to bed

Is there any image viewer that supports flif yet?

Eye of GNOME is pretty good.

You don't need an image viewer to connect to the internet.
Just use whichever one you want (spyware or not) and block it on your firewall.
