FALSE PROPFET

Jesus Christ, never really researched Richard Stallman to find out his exact ideas but after listening to this interview he makes Terry from Temple OS seem rational.

this guy was such an old egotistical asshole that couldn't understand the fact that it was a interview and not a lecture. why dose he think everyone knows as much about tech as him? he seems paranoid and unaware

can some please justify this

youtube.com/watch?v=fkkDvKGcNSo#t=325.323701

>hurr durr slavery is bad
sick of this shit, sugar doesn't harvest itself

Kys

^ this

it's a meme you dip

Freetard disease.

so get to it, neet boy

Give him a break. The interviewer has a bit of a language barrier, not bad, but it would be difficult to converse in english with him freely. Stallman makes his points well. He has a mission. Pure market is unworkable and pure commune/no ownership is unworkable. There has to be both and you get your camps. Find things that work from each or join a side if pays your bills. There. Did I justify it? I don't see your problem.

Fuck
I can't listen to English,I can only read

What does this have to do with anything? Oh, right, Sup Forums is now on every board to some extent.

Oh, really? Not wanting to live in Orwell's 1984. and willingly subjugate yourself is a disease now? Should we all be complacent when we're being data mined? Not to mention that he's a man who actually stands behind his words, however impractical and difficult it must be. That's definitely a disease. Who needs honest and real people anymore?

He is the profit Sup Forums deserves.

Stallman is always right(tm), so shut your whore mouth and get yourself some freedom

>he seems paranoid and unaware
perhaps because he knows a thing or two about tech, you retard

>egotistical asshole
so, him saying that we should contribute to humanity (by sharing our code and not letting corporations profit from it by making it proprietary) makes him egotistical... nice twisted logic you got there

saged because you are cancer

Y'all need to review the difference between profit and prophet.

Um, sweetie? Sages are not downvotes mmmkay?

Great argument.

I'm glad you understand

Make a real one next time.

Is RMS in search of the fourth political theory?

He's not a politician for one.

Sage is not an argument

Sarcasm is something you missed.

Christ, listening to him argue reminds me of my accounting teacher in highschool. To a point, he has a point, but just because you have a point doesn't make you right at all times in all scenarios from all points of view.

I mean his point of
>administration had wishes but their wishes were wrong, and I couldn't care less about his wishes

That will get you fired in any other professional setting, only in academia can you get that sort of liberty which is beneficial for some, in his case it made him a cunt.

>32:35
>autistic freak out

>35:30
>"I don't know why you keep talking about a 16 year old student what difference does that make?"
>"does it matter if he's 16 or 46?"
>"some students need to say no to non free software at schools, when schools become supporters of ignorance, because that is what it is remember, a non free program is the enemy of the spirit of education, represents dependence on a particular company and it represents teaching people not helping each other, and must be fought by anyone who has any relationship with a school"

He's out of touch beyond belief, what a cunt.

>anytime I connect to any website other than wikipedia, it's through Tor

well there you go.

He's not infallible, but what do you expect from his lifestyle? Do you think he's capable or anyone at all for that matter of running his own Internet system?

And here we see many Sup Forumslocks begging for the authoritarian cock up his ass while screeching he is the righteous.

Stallman is always right. Always.

How is this out of touch?

The point I attempted to make is how out of touch he is, the problem with being out of touch to the point that he is, its that it is highly indicative of a mental disorder.

That will invalidate his entire spiel, and if it does so retroactively, it will affect the point of linux. He is doing more harm than good to the entire tech community, by being out there talking.

Bump

While I don't think you hold the same position as the person I intended this reply for, it seems fitting for your response too. And how exactly is he damaging to the Linux community?

>begging for the authoritarian cock up his ass
>Stallman is always right. Always.

oh look its reddit

You only need to be a generally educated person to follow Stallman, not an IT specialist.

>And how exactly is he damaging to the Linux community?

watch the interview, if you don't get it then you may be autistic.

>complaining about austism on Sup Forums
How is this a bad thing?

>not "having a normal life" (i.e., not following the new trendy shit the bunch of retards like you follows) = mental disorder
ok m8
I guess you get anxiety every time you feel "abnormal"... perhaps you are the one with some mental disorder here

You obviously didn't watch the video.
You're in school, and you're provided a device to do your work in, and you say I refuse to use this device because the software and hardware it uses are not "free software". Meaning using proprietary software is such a travesty to you that you are OK with throwing away your education.

You think this is a normal attitude of a reasonable person?

I'm the one you're expecting a reply from. You have to understand that Stallman is an ideologue and a man who stands behind his words no matter what and even to the extent of:
>You think this is a normal attitude of a reasonable person?
And that's one of the reason people respect him. His lifestyle is impractical of course and impossible for many.

Stallman is too left wing for my tastes. Really soured me on the whole concept of """free""" software. Can't wait until people like him are being chucked from helicopters.

...

>He thinks Stallman is authoritarian

he is an ideological way. its his free as in freedom way or no way. where is the tolerance for privacy in software?

>And that's one of the reason people respect him
You are misunderstanding morbid curiosity for respect. People will stop to watch a train wreck doesn't mean they have any interest in actually helping.

To quote one of the comments on that video
>Yeah, but Stallman wouldn't care if you try to use OSS, so what's the point? He'd say giving a little bit is still giving up everything. Because you opt to use the non-FOSS drivers for your wifi to work and such (y'know, for you to have a functional computer) he'd say you have already given up.
