What do you guys think of the PSP?
I'm thinking of getting another one. I used to have a PSP slim and the charger port broke somehow. I wanna get an old PSP fat though.
I really liked the design. I like it way more than touch-screen bullshit and it has a decent size screen for a handheld.
I'm not really interested in the games for it, moreso the ergonomics and everything else

Uh...aside games you can't do much with a psp: only supports wep wifi, you can maybe listen to music, read epubs and reencode every movie you want to watch. Buying a psp as a media playing device is dumb. Just buy a psp if you like the psp/ps1 library or at least like retro games

im using one for running LGPT, an 8 channel sample based tracker modeled after LSDJ, which is great. bought it for this purpose. uses sonys fucking memory cards though but i actually had one in an old camera.

psp is awesome. once you have pandoras battery and custom firmware going on you can just play any game iso. the gba emulator is superb, id argue it is the best portable gba emulator.

No, it struggles with SNES even. Get a Vita, or one of those chink handhelds that run Windows.
FF7 and coded arms are literally the only reasons to own a PSP.
My psp 1006 had no problem connecting to WPA network, wpa2 was not possible though.
What is the point of Pandora's battery when you can install cfw without it? Genuine question, maybe there is something I'm missing on my psp.
I got the GPX XD, chink android "console". Runs PSP games pretty good except for a few like GTA and God of War. I think it only had OpenGL 3.1 and those games work way better with 4.0.
Dreamcast works too and is getting better and better. No savestates though which is pain for a portable.
Anyway, fun little emulation console. Good battery life, about 8 hours depending on what you play with a small but good community.
Playing Zelda: Oracle of Ages on it right now.
I still take my PSP 2000 out every now and then to charge the battery and play some GTA though.

You don't need this and haven't needed this for years now. CFW for the PSP now is literally just copying and pasting files, I think you can even just go to a web site through the psp's browser and it'll install cfw for you. Its that easy.

Man, one of the main reasons to buy a PSP is fixability and modability. Solder the DC wires from the USB port on to the charging port, job done.

I have a softmodded psp brite that I use for audiobooks, emulation and ps1 rpgs during flights. Aside from playing old games I think any cheap tablet would be a better option.
