>1/11 of the Internet is ads
Surprised it's not higher

Ad companies don't give much of a fuck beyond how damaging the existence of the phrase "ad blocker" is to the very core of their industry. It's people taking out advertisements and sites that use ad revenue to stay running that really hate it.

Depends on the site. (((News))) places are usually above half.

>1.7 million ads blocked since my install or 12%
>laugh about it, just keep on going

you must visit a lot of shitty sites

>He doesn't just block all the domains from his host file list

>implying the Internet is anything BUT shitty sites
>oh please

>block everything through hosts file
>really need to access a website but uh oh I was autistic and blocked it in my hosts file
>have to open the host file up and remove the address
>access the website
>have to open the hosts file again to add the website to the block list again

>someonewhocares.org/hosts/
how efficient is this??

Ublock uses hosts and more(like cosmetic filters, something that hosts won't ever be able to do). Why lose functionality just to have one less extension installed.

>1,544,338 or 16%

>Boy I really need to visit this domain that only serves advertisements

Hi, Rasheed

Off yourself, make the world a better place my dude.

>t. Rasheed Kumar

>he doesn't use ad nauseum
you guys don't seem to get it.

>using adblocker that loads ads
Even bigger joke than your life.

Facebook would be one example

proves his point, doesn't it?

It's actually higher considering both google and facebook are ad peddlers

Blocking solely through the hosts file is a very hit and miss solution.
Ads can be served in a number of ways, and the popular antiadblock solutions attempt to connect to some ad domains to see if you are blocking ads, without being able to block the script which is running on the site you are attempting to visit you won't be able to access the site at all if you are just blocking domains in the hosts file.
