Being the most normal/average/boring state also makes us THE political bellweather, which means every four years politicians, pundits, and condescending "experts" from more important states descend on Ohio like locusts and obsess over us.... only to forget about us once the election is over.
Growing up in Ohio left me extremely jaded about politics.
