Scam stories

So, I'd like to know how you Sup Forumsurus scam companies. I know that it's "not the right thing to do" or "I'm a terriible human being", but aren't we all? Recently, I learned that you can buy a console, play it for many months, buy a new control from Walmart that looks exactly like the one you own, keep the receipt and perform a quick switcharoo and return it. Have you guys done this as well? If anything lets share some other of scams that we are proud of. I'm sure we all enjoy free and new stuff.

Scams? what scams, surely you meant social engineering right my friend ;)?

Ha I suppose it's social engineering. I think it'd be nice to talk about tricks that have gotten us free stuff.

>have always gotten my porn for free
>at the time, for some reason feel bad about it
>want to try seeing what "premium" porn has to offer
>decide to up for Brazzers
>only a few bucks a month? fuck it why not

>few days pass
>visiting my grandma to help clean her sort her garage
>check my bank account
>they stole $80 from me
>I made sure to thoroughly read all text in the agreements and shit
>nothing like this was mentioned anywhere
>email them about it, they say they did nothing wrong and I agreed to it, I call bullshit but they refuse to do anything
>panic mode
>too poor to just lose $80

>next day, briefly mention me getting scammed to my grandma
>somehow forgot she'll go to any lengths to help me
>she gets on the phone with my bank trying to help me get my money back
>guy on the phone mentions the name of the service
>she hasn't heard of it and asked me what it was
>"u-u-uhhmm it's... a movie streaming service... like Netflix..."
>finally get her to stop and let me handle it when I get home

I was sweating like a pig and I was begging god to kill me where I stood. got my money back in the end, at least.

decided to sign up for Brazzers*
help sort her garage*
writing this dead tired.

This is so innocent

Sorry, I'm not a scumbag.

You grandma paid for some videos on your account

bullshit. Banks wont give info out like that to an unauthorized person.

What was the reason for the charge?

Do they charge the $80 to all customers or was it some unlucky rare cause?

This, still a cute story tho

Simple

>buy a mac
>use nothing but FOSS software

Checkmate atheist

She's connected to my account.
Also it may not have been the bank, but they were supposed to help with fraud.

Latter. I read carefully and there was nothing that could've justified their action.

Was it good at least?

I semi-regularly get called by poojeets offering "investment opportunities". first time I tried to tell him I'm not interested, but they just keep talking. now I just hang up as soon as I realize poojeet's calling.

it was called Switching Teams or some shit. some of it was pretty decent, and that black haired chick is cute.

Walmart reads the fucking serial numbers, exactly because people pull this shit.

I've tried that and failed. Apparently, they're able to notice that the serial number on the box and the one on the console do not match. I stumbled out an excuse and ran away when it happened.

whats the point if you already have one

thats because this BRILLIANT SCAM is literally 10 or 20 years older (or more)

Please continue with this thread, I'm VERY interested! :)

It's as old as stores letting you return stuff. I used to work retail, if someone brought in something we still carried and it was packaged up nicely in the original box, I don't give any fucks I'll replace it for you. The store either sends it back to the manufacturer or we get credit for it and destroy it.

>Used to do volunteer work in a local computer shop that was very popular with the town
>Around 2011 a virus was doing the rounds similar to the ransomware shit but not as severe
>At least 10 people a day were brining their computers in infected with the virus
>Standard charge to do a virus removal was around 30bongs if I recall
>All you had to do to remove the virus was find the folder which was somewhere in mydocuments (really easy to identify once you saw a few), delete it, run a virus scan and then done
>Shop made a killing that month.

That's not a scam, that's knowledge, time, and skill arbitrage, the whole business is built on that. Yeah I could read on the internet how to install a new toilet in my house but I'll probably fuck it up and I want my toilet to work so I'm going to pay a plumber $100 to do it.

Once I found out how easy it was to remove it yourself, it did feel like a scam charging people 30bong, probably more, to remove it for them. But as you say, business is business

Meant for

0855002032 : number from scam company in sweden.

Same from my company
>charge 5€ for a https site with a Let's Encrypt cert
>its literally 2 boxes to tick on the admin panel
>Let's Encrypt is fucking free

0855002032 is the number that called me in sweden.

Checked forums and everyone say they scam people to pay a bogus insurance.

If say, this number starts getting tons and tons of phonecalls from around the world at the same time, It would make me happy... :)

Sold a graphics card on ebay a few years back. The guy messaged me saying he was water cooling it and then a few days later he tells me it's broken and wants his money back. He opened a claim with paypal to which I told them about the messages and because he altered it himself I won.

Scamming cunt.

>thinking about paying for a refund service
>Too much of a pussy to do it myself
I need some parts for my desktop and laptop ;_;
