ドイツくん,僕は日本語とドイツ語をべんきょうしたい。

As an English speaker with 2 years of High School German, do you think I should study both Japanese and German at the same time or would I be better off focusing on German for a few years and then picking up Japanese?

The German grammas are fucked up and need a lot of effort to be learned since it doesn't follow a real logic or follows thousands of logics.

Japanese writting is fucked up and you need to mememorize 2000 Kanji.

I'm a pessimist and would say take your time for something fun because you won't make either of those languages.

He is literally my mother’s dog

Would I ever be able to make talk like a native in German?

What languages are you studying besides Japanese?

Thanks for the advice, I'm interested in Japanese, German, French, or possibly Korean. I've studied the first three for several years but I'm just so indecisive. German seems the coolest because Japanese is just so god damn hard.

>talk like a native in German
As long as you don't learn a language as a child I don't think you can become native-tier (except you're very talented)

I don't study languages at all.
I just entered the thread to wonder why the german here is so butchered into non-sense.

Sagen vom Kosmos. (Saga of the Cosmos)
That makes sense, but for what are those senseless aditions?

Sounds like a German sneeze.

Dunno. My girlfriend is learning japanese and doing the JLPT (nihongo nōryoku shiken) in University out of fun. But she seems rtaher busy with it besides her regular studies and bought atleast 3 books and few practise books.
It really depends how deep you wanna go. (kek)

German is possible in 2 years; I even met people who were quite fluent wiht a slight accent in this time span But both in an "official" way with certificates and similiar seems really optimistic and hard. But possible if you ask me.

It is just like eccentric little boy to say so

German people do fucking funny sneeze

I studied Japanese for a semester at college and it was so much fucking work. I'm considering taking German for the rest of my time here but I'm not sure.

If I learn German after 3 years, and I go to Germany, how much do they make fun of me for trying to speak German to them? How soon do they laugh, mutter "Nein" and begin to speak flawless English to me?

Also how long until I can read Das Kapital by Marx?

What are some native German shows / music to listen to?

Is this german == dogs some kind of a meme?

Japanese people are weird in bullying.

>If I learn German after 3 years, and I go to Germany, how much do they make fun of me for trying to speak German to them?

I guess most of them don't make fun of you. But it's usually the norm that many people don't even try to converstae in dialy life with you in german but try to switch over to english. Like, you try to improve your skills and try to talk with it on a rgeular base and many people just fuck it up talking to you in english then because they think they can help you. Atleast if you ask for directions or something. If you're somewhat proficient, they don't really care and speak to you in plain german.

>How soon do they laugh, mutter "Nein" and begin to speak flawless English to me?
Like I said, I never heard or met someone (foreign student for examples) which were 'bullied' for their attempt to try to speak english. They just tend to think that switching to English sometimes would help you if they see you struggle. But germany, especially the larger cities (Berlin, Hamburg, München, ...) have a big meet-up community as well for example for people who try to learn a language, university groups, ...

>Also how long until I can read Das Kapital by Marx?
Kek, you commi. But for real I think it depends. After one year with daily exercise I would like to think you can understand most of it. Takes maybe a bit longe rto grasp it all.

Philsophy texts (Heidegger & co) tend to be even more complicated and I've seen most germans struggle with it to comprehend anything out of it. They see the words but can't make a meaning out of it.

>What are some native German shows / music to listen to?

Dependend on taste.
TV shows and music is most likely not good.
But I really like to recommend documentaries in german

>How often is anime subtitled into German
Very often. It's easier for me to find streams of movies or Anime with German sub than english.

Games, only very popular ones. In general everyone who is able does watch movies in english and plays games in english.

Well, yes. But most german sub-groups in anime are using english subtiles and translate them. So yes, there are quite a few german subgroups for animes out their.

Almost any general game is translated in german

there* instead their.

Thank you for the long reply, that helps me a lot holy shit. I feel a little better about late-changing my college schedule to possibly add German to it.

Would I be stupid to study German then? I'm leaning towards German rather than Japanese, I feel like if I study Japanese for 5 years I would still probably be frustrated.

About all the German bully shit, I just always hear that Germans talk English to German learners like no matter what haha.

Is it bad that I wish I had lived in East Germany? I don't know how you Germans feel about Socialists anymore but I'd love to talk to people who lived in East Germany. Especially in German!

Thank you for all the help man, you and the other German in here are great. I am very tempted to start dedicating my time to German.

mehmet pls, are you mad because you can't afford a house in switzerland? I understand, I'm angry they won't let me in either

"Mit 2 Grad wird's schon so richtig ZAPFIG".

Okay.

german is ugly language

I very like the Gran Turismo series.
I don't like racing games but the realism and toughness of this game attracts me.
Alone the autism in collecting special cars is very satisfying.
I once had a Seat Leon and a BMW i3 both featured in some games of the series.
It's incredible realistic.

どういう事?
日本だけ一日このゲームが有れるか?

It will fit your face.

I would not say it's stupid. But I don't see any economical benefits besides learning it ouf of fun, understanding few classic books and eventually living here. The same applies to japanese though.
If it's just ouf of fun and curiosity, go for it.

>About all the German bully shit, I just always hear that Germans talk English to German learners like no matter what haha.

It's really quite a bit like that. It eventually even happens that people won't like talk to you because they can't even speak english (older generation) and are just frustrated to deal with your potential difficulties/pronuncation. But they seem rather rare. But it really depends on the environment. In a University/workplace/restaurants/... people would like talk toyou in english. Getting into some conversation with some stranger seems harder.

It's not. I'm living myself in "west" germany (even though they say you don't split nowadays) and would not know how people are over there. Some friends and rumours say that they are quite full of prejudices, not capable of speaking many languages, not 'intelligent'.
I don't really know. Growing up there would be not that nice but that's just ouf of my prejudiced mind as well.

>Thank you for all the help man, you and the other German in here are great. I am very tempted to start dedicating my time to German.

Null problemo m8tie. The most important thing is dealing with the frustration and dealing with it. Everything can be learnt. Just remember others did it so you can do it as well. The difference between making it and giving up is dealing with it and just continue.

He talk about magazine コロコロ is monthly comic magazin

>mfw some companies in switzerland offered me jobs straight of of University but I told them to fuck off

Live in germany seems easier and less complicated. I don't like their social and industrial structure.

Ich will einen Muschi licken.

I understood that, but I didn't understand if by copyright he meant the magazine or the game itself since from Gen VI they release the game worldwide and some japanese didn't like it.
