Weechat is pretty gud because glowing bear makes mobile irc so nice. It also allows you to use irc from kiosks that allow only browser access.

hexchat seems like one of the easier ones to set up, and since I'm a n00b that's what I picked
works fine. couldn't get file transfers to work though.
