Why is everyone and their uncle trying to learn 'coding' these days?

Why is everyone and their uncle trying to learn 'coding' these days?

These people don't even fucking enjoy it

Fucking normalfags ruin everything. No exceptions.

Because when it comes to money people will literally do anything.

Driving down the wages for you programmer cucks.

It'll be the new retail wage slave job.

Normalfags could do any job in the fucking world but they had to pick programming

Programming is literally the only job that I'm even capable of fucking doing. If it wasn't for programming I'd be on fucking disability

Fuck everything

cunnilingus and psychiatry brought us to this

they've always done programming. but they're not good at it. unfortunately a lot of the time the people who pay programmers don't know the difference.

I enjoy coding. I learned coding for fun and the ability to create my own programs to automate everyday life.

learn to do it better then, you fucking timmy

I'm gonna need it for work as an astronomer
C/C++ for heavy operations and python for everyday light use
If that makes you insecure you should reconsider your abilities

If you're a CS grad the normies aren't going to take your job. If you're an overpaid front end developer working with Wordpress, yeah you're done for.

>why are people doing what I do waaah
>I don't think they should because reasons

This is the most autistic post I've seen in around 12 hours. If some normie brainlet can perform your job as good as you can, you're a worthless fuck. If you're great at your job, you have nothing to worry about in the first place.

Sounds like you're the former though, a worthless fuck who only just got into a job and feels threatened from normies who only just got into programming.

youre not special, youre just a virgin loser

move on

>I'm gonna be an astronomer!!1!

Lol maybe reconsider your life kiddo

>youre not special, youre just a virgin loser

I never stated otherwise

>Normalfags
says the fuckboy who:
>wears shoes he bought at the mall
>cannot read sheet music
>unable to solve a system of differential equations
>drives a car with an automatic transmission
>has listened to less than 3,000 albums
>does not play a musical instrument
>cannot derive maxwell's equations
>unable to perform a heel-toe downshift
peasants like you make me sick

I'm a Norman, I can explain:
>technology is the hottest thing right now
>everyone has the vague notion of "computers" being the future
>extremely unrealistic understanding of what "coding" actually entails
>popular media showing "coding" in a positive light
>Geek culture being popular ever since 2007. Being a "nerd" is cool.
>normies have finally been fully introduced to the internet, they love their smartphones, their social media apps, and they love the internet, which in their mind equals "coding"
>gaming is also a popular hobby, leading many to "coding" so they can make epic games
>constantly hearing success stories of startups and shit, movies like The Social Network
>well paying jobs
>unlike most skills, its something you can learn on your own, you can write and run programs on any PC, anyone can use a computer
Overall, it's just memes that lead people to it. It's all hype. Like everything with normies, they're attracted to the image, not the actual thing. Everyone wants to be a "hacker". Every hobby sees this mainstream attention eventually, but mainstream has a short attention span. I wouldn't worry just yet, the majority of people are either too dumb or too impatient to actually learn, and also they lack the necessary autism to do it. It takes a certain personality to stick with it and improve. Everyone says they're learning coding, but what they really mean is they did a bit of code academy and wrote "hello world" or plugged in x=2 in the little interface. int main(void) is complete giberish to them, and the majority will get bored of it in less than an hour. The more dedicated will stop after a few days, and then there's the whole group who will wash out the first time they reach a problem they can't instantly solve and get frustrated and walk away to never try again.

Same way everyone claims to be learning a language because they use Memrise every once in a while.Anything that takes hard work will remain pretty safe from the horde.

SJWs ruin everything

>and the majority will get bored of it in less than an hour
So far, I've had at least 5 normie friends ask me to teach them programming. Only one has actually gone through with it, the other ones gave up when they saw includes.

Dont worry. They are just being memed to programming. The time they read c++ code. 99 percent of them will drop out.

Also lots of these people are "html and css programmers". Basically "Kody" programmers

"Everyone can code"

"Everyone can draw"

"Everyone can do math"

"Everyone can be rich"

Yeah man, most people are complete casuals at everything, it's just the way things are. I used to be really into skateboarding and everyone wanted to learn, up until they actually stand on the board and try for a few minutes. The biggest filter was just learning how to Ollie, I'd say out of dozen(s) of people I tried to teach, maybe two actually got that far without giving up. None ever got to the point of doing a kickflip (the second great filter). And that's something physical, with immediate gratification. Guitar is the same way, everyone wants to learn once they hear you play, no one cotinues once they realize playing the first chord without blocking the strings takes a bit of effort and their fingers start hurting. Programming is less instantly rewarding than both of those. It requires patience, critical thinking, and problem solving skills. I don't think the average person is wired for it. The future, basic coding/scripting might be more common skills but I doubt a huge amount of people are actually going to stick with programming. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'd bet on it.

I blame the media for meme-ing the people to coding.

In actual case, you will earn more by simply doing what you are good at. Biology or math or physic or porn. Go at it.

Why force yourself on something you don't even like? Porn actors can make as much as programmer.

Coding is the future. It is literally the future.

Biology is also the future.

Everyone can learn biology.

Math is the future.

Everyone can be a good mathematician

No such thing as basic coding. Even the most basic html and css are evolving to single page library like reactjs and angularJS.

You either a programmer or not.

I like this pasta
