You should be able to install arch fine. Antergos is slightly more bloated though incredibly simple.

I installed arch once. It took me forever to get the boot loader installed. I finally found some setting in BIOS I needed to change. I'll post my step by step since I've got nothing better to do.

Well, Debian is my main, but it's a bit of a "boring" distro (doesn't have any unique features, but that's why I like it.) If you want something different, I'd go with Antix!

elementary is the most nonvirgin distro out there, userfriendly and robust. Other than that stay away from linux if you arent running a SERVER.
