CPU-Z

CPU-Z thread
What are your overcocks?
Can easily hit 3.9 no problem at 1.33v but I cannot go to 4ghz even at 1.42v. Hit a brick wall

this troubles me about the ryzen.
Why do they OC so bad?
I need my CPU to be at least @4.0 for autism reasons

...

Then get an 1800x. They have the best chances of getting to 4.0GHz without requiring you to pump a lot of voltage into them.

if i had that kinda mad ca$h i'd go intel

I've just sold this bad boy. I hope the new owner will treat him well.

the actual TDP mustve been closer to 200w

I had my freezer 13 running at maximum RPM along with some other fan strapped onto the heatsink, but I have to admit that it was a marvelous piece of silicon because it was stable as fuck.

And buy what exactly?

i7 7820x

I also can't hit 4.0 no matter what I do.

>AMD
I CANT TAKE THIS ANYMORE

got my 1700 at a comfy 3.6 at 1.15V

could be at 1.10 for regular use, but it starts to be unstable after an hour of prime95

>need my CPU to be at least @4.0 for autism reasons
Same here
I won't buy ryzen untill I can guarantee a 4.0ghz OC

Running my 2600K at 4.6GHz these days. It can do 5GHz, but it's just not worth the heat. In fact, 4.7 is where it starts wanting more voltage than I'm willing to give it. It still serves my needs absolutely perfectly and ideally I'd like to keep it for another couple of years, so there's no point in doing anything to jeopardise that.

Since all i do is gaming and some render and photo editing here and there i think i will be fine for at least another 4 years. Also this is paired with an RX480 8gb Sapphire Nitro+ OC

reporting in

I also run 4.6ghz 1.32V on a 2600k
I've run benchmarks at 3.8,4.6, and 5.0ghz and anything past 4.6ghz doesn't show any improvement.

>bought x99 two years ago
>fall off the earth
>come back
>Sup Forumsnow smoking the amd dong
>see this thread and realize they're all lies

Ryzen doesn't OC worth shit.
But it's still very fast at 3.5ghz-3.9

>muh gigahurrz

Go buy an FX 9590 if you want high clocks out of the box, nignog. If I ever upgrade my 2600K before I blow my brains out, it'll be to Ryzen. Intel is a joke these days. Even their fucking paid shills like Linus are publically shitting on them.

>5.1GHz
that can't be a daily clock

it's just a PR stunt before the meme:
"coffeelake is the shit Intel really turned it around wow what an amazyin comapny"

it is. 1.45V is breddy manageable on Sandy Bridge even without water cooling
praise soldered IHS

Wish i could overclock it properly.

Solder is too expensive for new cpus plus you don't want your IHS to pop off magically with solder!

Did you know that the Nazis used solder in the construction of the gas chambers which killed one hundred million Jews at Auschwitz? It's disgraceful that people still promote such an anti-semitic substance. I praise Intel for helping the fight against it.

Leakage

Either low quality fabricators or Ryzen fabricators hasn't had time to mature yet. I'm betting the later but could very well be a combination.

Higher quality fabs and maturity should theoretically push the clocks up later on.

Mobo died a few days ago

RIP intel

Guessing ryzen 3 5 and 7 are all pentium tier shit silicon. Betting they are binning the good silicon for Threadripper/Epyc

Threadripper is rumored to have a 4.1 boost/XFR 14 core chip
Typical the BEST silicon possible is sent for servers. E3 Xeons typically use 25% less power for the same clocks compared to the i7s
SB i7 2600 vs E3 1270 same clocks 24% less power used its even more severe on smaller fab processes. Celeron/Pentium are basically discarded cores sold for scrap prices.

Let me guess, low end GA or ASRock?
Or you went full retard with a motherboard with shitty MOSFET/VRM?

How hard is BLCK overclocking?

Asus z170m
DDR3 Non low voltage

Skylake is meant to only run on low voltage ram but asus said its fine

It only works well on Skylake since the voltage regulator was moved off mobo to CPU
Not sure is kaby was relocked down or if custom bios are out yet

Im aware, just asking.

Also never went over 1.3v cooler is a cyrorig H7 Max temps around 70c

...

Pretty much the same as normal OCing but with a few issues mainly powersaving settings have to be turned off and CPU temps wont read correctly on some motherboards.

>bought a 1700
>Saved $280 instead of a 1800x
>Comfy at 3.9ghz

$280 is not worth an extra 100 mhz

masterslair.com/determining-your-maximum-bclk-base-clock-frequency-i7-i5-i3

Def not
Not sure if 1700 is worth over 1600 for the ~100$ price gap

B350 + 1600 non x + 16gb 3,000+mhz ram = 370$
Should clock 3.9 all day

then get a 1800x

Pretty much tapped out this proc as far it can go and still maintain stability.

Be sure to grab that agesa microcode update when your board maker has it available. You can finally push some good ram speeds with that.

If I had a $500 budget for a CPU, I wouldn't buy ryzen then.

Wow, a massive 50mhz Overclock.

>If I had a $500 budget for a CPU, I wouldn't buy ryzen then.

know of anything that gets close to that things performance for under $1000?

besides the 1600x also gets 4ghz

The i9 8 core for one.

I'll waiting for a 6 core CPU that can clock 5.0.ghz
Has high speed ddr4 support 4500mhz+

Will probably be a while.

You're retarded XFR only boosts 1 core to 4 ghz.

...

What's the silicon lottery style odds for 1500x? SL only does 1600+

i3-7300 - 4ghz stock - $149
ryshit - can't do 4ghz - $349
maybe consider suicide ?

No one cares

>i9 8 core
$600 at the BEST, still $200 more then amd, still $300 for raid, still a housefire, and still lower clocked then amd, its shit

>dual core
vs
>8 core

my 1600 does only 3725 at 1.33

and you need 8c for? watching porn? browsing Sup Forums?

Single core is all you need, goy.

AYYMD HOUSEFIRES

Max it will do stable. Runs 4ghz at 103.7 daily

all this power

comfy

>4790k better single thread performance than 7700k
CPU-Z is complete shit

not cpuz, best single threaded perf on the market

how stable is your overclock? is it on 24/7 ?

Almost there... Just need a second cpu to go beast mode

sure I'll post mine, why not.

No OC because I haven't had the need to yet.

At 4.8GHz versus 4.2GHz, you dumb fuck.

>13% higher clocks
Because the IPC improvement is irrelevant right? Fuck off retard.
