Honestly not that much. Speed is a big bonus. I can get the most obscure retro anime from 1976 at a minimum of 3MB+ Having said that if you like more obscure anime then you will come across shows with no torrents on nyaa or 0 seeds and that's when AB is essential But for 90% of anime watching nyaa is just fine. However I'm hardcore weeabo and I needed to know what I was missing

Make sure you do a mass stat scrape too. Alot of info for alot of torrents are missing. Sometimes some info are even missing on the torrent details page but if you refresh it, they come back.

When you're setting up the dev site again, can you make it use the same DB as live? It's easier to test problems with the live DB, especially with new uploads or uploads that get scraped into live. It's abit pointless to test the dev site with it's own seperated DB.

780k duplicates on sukebei 3,4k on nyaa not that important if the indexing is well configured but you could make the dumps around 200mb lighter. For the past week I've only been able to download the dumps by using wget -c since downloads would always get interrupted and produce a seemingly corrupted file. I'm guessing cloudfare might be involved.

Yeah I'm planning on doing one once I finish the scraper. Also planning on mass generating torrent files for everything. Maybe in a couple of days? I'm not sure though. And yeah we'll probably have to enable data replication for dev.

I'd like the dev db to be different but with up to date data from prod. Different because so we can actually break and test things freely. Same for up to date torrents and such. Good thing pantsu will stick around if it does come back. Our goals haven't changed with providing a distributed service and we're going to prevent the data loss from happening either way by scraping from nyaa.se if it does come back.
