Intels golden age thread

Those invited: sandy bridge through haswell

i5 2500k are guaranteed (you)'s
This includes anyone still using a i7 920 or anyone with 5Ghz

>mfw soldered CPU

>haslel
>golden anything

:^)

haswell a shit, everything went to shit starting with haswell.

>1.32V only gives me 4.3GHz on a 2500k
IT'S NOT FUCKING FAIR

jesus fuck you got a terrible one

I get 5.2 with 1.78

>1.78V
RIP

>1.78

Previous Gen builds.
-i7 960: Clocked to 4.5GHz on noob settings, might have been able to go further. Preferred to stay at 4GHz for stability and to have a nice clean base clock for the RAM to handle.
-i7 2700k: Bumped up to 4GHz for small boost for barely noticeable boost.

it's been stable for years.

i've been at 5.2 since sometime early 2014

i'm retarded, i was reading out my pll

>1.78

I'm a level34 country and western druid.
Don't tell me what' t' do.

2600k
4.2ghz1.15v
4.6ghz 1.32V
5.0ghz 1.51v

Looks a bit stubborn there towards the end but you can get away with it if you have decent cooling

Also got any temps?

i7 5600U being used as a desktop.
Usually found in ~$1000 setups, I got it with the laptop for 300.

Broadwell was the last good CPU architecture.

I had a 930, sold it for a 975

Not invited

I dunno, my 4790k @4.7 on air is pretty comfy.

Skylake and Kaby Lake are easily Intel's best recent CPUs.

>inb4 delid this
You're implying enthusiasts don't delid their CPUs anyway so why the fuck are you trying to make a meme out of it?

Right now, you can get awesome LGA 1366 hardware for really cheap.

I was using a Core2 Quad Q6600 for a really long time, and finally decided to spend a little bit of money to get my compile times down a bit.

I got a machine with two 6 core xeons running at 3.06 GHz, 48GB of RAM, and a bunch of extras for $300USD. Very good decision, I am not sure why people are buying $500 quad core skylake parts that perform the same.

Maybe if you read my post you would understand why you're not invited

3570k @ 4.5 with 1.23V

god a decent chip this time unlike my q9550

>Trying to turn DELID into some sort of "hardcore badge of honor"
>When it's really hilariously stupid horseshit you have to go through soley because Intel are a bunch of cheap-ass bitches

>Sandy Bridge through Haswell
Haswell and Broadwell were complete shit though. Ivy Bridge was borderline shit. Sandy Bridge, Skylake, and Kaby Lake are objectively Intel's best CPU series.

I don't disagree that it's bullshit for Intel to cheap out on the IHS paste, but I do think it's bullshit of you to imply that people on Sup Forums don't delid their processors in the first place.

3570k @4.2 with 1.2

Not as lucky but might be able to reach higher clocks if I decide to delid

Mid 50s for everything
Custom loop doesn't seem to care about the voltage.

>Double Dubs
checked

You are the *autistic screech* of this thread.

This thread is for older generation intel processors, no one asked for your opinion. We were simply discussing our AGING processers not your fresh out of the deliding tool over priced shit cpu.

With that being said you're still not invited no matter how much you shill for the new gen processors.

You're out of your fucking mind, Intlel shill.

Go fuck your selfie.

why is it bad?

>no one asked for your opinion
do you not know how anonymous imageboards work?

this isn't leddit where you can group-downvote and hide the meanie who dares interrupt your precious circlejerk.

Glad to see lots of nehelams in here. I still think it was a more important jump over core2 than sandy vag was over it.

Anyway still got my old xeon x3470 (replaced i5 750) in my old machine as a spare and test rig as it still pretty much does everything, just hotter.

This

>real engineers went to the moon with slow ass computers
>modern processors can emulate all that shit 500 times over
>Sup Forums bitches about microimprovements in-between generarions

1.78V would fry that chip instantly.

Yeah, FUCK people posting on the dedicated technology board of a Chinese finger painting website wanting to see improvements in technology. I was perfectly happy back in prehistoric times, hunting for my dinner with a spear and living in a cave.

Why did things have to change, bros? ;_;

>inb4 dual core

I have an 950 and a 3930k. Some of the vidya wont utilize the 6 cores tho, so planning to get a 6600k or 4930k

Not an argument.

3770 and 3770s here, comfy af

Are you fucking high?
The 6700k and 7700k are like 3% faster than the 4790k

They are shit.
