This x62 has an intel i5 engineering sample cpu, 8gb ram, 64 gb ssd (sata III), usb 3, display port, 4:3 1024x768 ips, and an 8 cell battery.

lol I bet you use 16:9 and think its more but the resolution is proportionate to the relationship between these numbers. You have to take the second number as the numerator and the first as the denominator. So you have 9/16 which is less than 3/4 its pretty fucking simple. 1/1 is best as it is a perfect even resolution so you get maximum definition

I'm quite happy with my librebooted UXGA T60. I really don't trust how long these motherboards will last.

The optimal ratio for the detailed part of human vision actually slightly wider than 4:3, not taller. 3:2 is too wide, however, and vertical space is generally more important than horizontal for reading text.
I believe the best easy approximation is Ax paper which is sqrt of 2 by 1.

Not stock. The German Thinkpad forum has a mod for restoring full tablet functionality.

Just the widescreen mod only. 13.3-inch Sharp IGZO 1920x1080 matte panel, the same one used in Dell XPS 13. In order to do so they have to custom make screen bezels, display cable and WiFi antenna cables, as well as making modifications to the X220/X230 screen cover.

They did have preorder for this but that was 10 months ago and don't have any update about it now.

Yes, actually. It's not for the sake of feeling special, it's doing what makes sense. I see no reason for the US to have its own style of spelling, so I don't use it. SI units simply make more sense, so I use them. DDMMYY has the different units of time in order of size, again making more sense, so I use it.

I put my 4:3 IPS in myself. Had to do some sketch level soldering, but it works. You could also drop in a higher resolution IPS screen from an x61 tablet. If it fits, you can make it work basically.
