XFCE should be the STANDARD for Linux

Does Sup Forums like Xubuntu?

It's really fast, lightweight and looks good.

Lubuntu is even more lightweight but I think XFCE feels much better to use so it's worth it.

At first, I used Xubuntu just on my low end laptop as it's so lightweight but then I realized XFCE is actually the best option Linux has so now I use Xubuntu even for my main production PC

Can we make XFCE the standard for Linux ?

Other people enjoy things you don't. It doesn't affect you what they are using.
You idiot.

Budgie is faster and with screen tearing from the start and it has faster boot times.

XFCE is deprecated

why not LxQT?

You have my sword OP

I dislike Ubuntu but XFCE is pretty good.

>I dislike Ubuntu
why?

Maybe because it's still not ready to replace LXDE.

Unstable. I'm at the point where having to fix any part of my OS really peels my tangerines.

>last update 2 years ago
>no high dpi scaling
xubuntu is not fit to be a DE in 2017 sorry

I think the best options are mate in a short/mid term and lxqt in a long term.

If noobuntu is 'unstable' to you you're gonna have a bad time with most other distros...

i got my roommate to show me how to install linux and she put on xubuntu. so far i like it, it's enough like windows that i don't feel totally out of my element but it's very fast with a lot of ricing potential

I'd prefer my standard to support Wayland and HiDPI scaling
Unless you really want to be using 1080p or 1336x768 all your life

>i dislike Ubuntu
>scrot of debian

but I don't like screen tearing

I would have fixed my post but I'm too lazy

xfce is pretty good. I prefer MATE for my main machine though.

Been using Xubuntu the last week on my very light-weight netbook.
It's pretty good. Far better than unity atleast.

Make it not look ugly first. Because right now it doesn't look good at all.

...

xubuntu is my linux distro of choice

>SCREEN TEARING

>tries to make fun of people
>is a tripfag

>open bashrc
>tons of already definted aliases and shit
no thanks

Standards don't matter in Linux. See the LSB, RPM is the standard package manager yet deb is the most popular.

I use XFCE and it lags ("tears"?) only when I move windows but I've always blamed that on X. LXDE looks ugly and completely uncustomizeable. Things like MATE and Cinammon just seem like bad alternatives to something more complete like Gnome or KDE.

lubuntu comes with a torrent client and everything needed. I prefer xfce, but if I wanted a lightweight distro that I have to customize I would use gentoo

Debian stretch is more stable than Ubuntu LTS.

Ubuntu is a fork of Debian. What are you implying, tripnigger?

>screen tearing
>shitty design
>icons made in ms paint
>updated once every decade
>buggy
>not as fast as lxde
>shittey themes
>inconsistent
>made by anime watching neckbeards
>shit font rendering
>logo is also shit
>requires configuration to be usable

>set up shop with MATE
>after login, one CPU thread is immediately pegged at 100%
>the MATE settings daemon is going postal for no discernible reason
>after a bit of rooting around, turns out the numlock handling of all things is extremely iffy and makes the thing go completely apeshit
>the bug is several fucking years old to boot, officially recognized by devs as well but still unfixed

>Linux
>one standard
Epic. Simply epic.

Xfce doesn't have screen tearing anymore.

This meme needs to die.

>not using compton

you deserve your tears

>lack of window management (snapping windows etc)
>lack of many modern features
>very hacked together feeling
>screen tearing
>fix for screen tearing requires knowing how to configure shit the average user doesn't know
>buggy
>applets that don't work
>default apps (thunar) suck dick

I could go on, its alright, but its a POS

doesn't work.

still get screen tearing up the ass, have to use compton to fix it.

>icons on desktop
why?

everyone know that android should be the default.

Most of the wm's can look better, be faster and lighter than that shit

>those proportions
uhh...

Works for me.

>desktop on display
why?
