Blunk

I do and its really nice. It even pauses your media player when your phone rings.

I do use it, pretty nice for the notifications and to know how much battery is left

It's nice
As a bonus it's also on fdroid and it works on blackberry so I can scroll with my passport's keyboard

What DE will you be using?

installing any kde shit in any other environment than kde installs like 3 gb of shit that runs in the background most of the time

>Using KDE

>Not having a proper file picker
>Having to deal with screen tearing out of the box

>3 gb

KDE user here, screen tearing issues are more likely to have something to do with the GPU being used than the DE. Certain Intel iGPU's tear like mad no matter what DE you have and what settings you use.

Exactly. And why would anyone even go through the trouble of installing proprietary GPU drivers in the first place? Windows 7/8.1 dual booting is still an option.

takes like 150mb on a gnome install

And KDE has gotten so much improvements over the years.

Because KDE use QT

KDE user again, you should install the proprietary drivers (inb4 angry stallman), because those are the ones that usually work best. FOSS drivers usually fall behind because manufacturers don't care for that shit. A sad reality, but true.

>KDE Neon
If you're going to post KDE setups, at least post either SUSE or PCLinuxOS desktops. Neon is a steaming pile of shit.

It's ok I guess. I stopped using KDE and all of its apps a while ago. I don't miss it.

Is there a similar application for other DEs?
That doesn't require you to install KDE bloat?

Wouldn't you rather choose "file picker" and "no screen tearing bloat"?

Kdeconnect is Fucking flawless.
Period.

i do

Yes. It does lack features I'd love to have
>Doesn't let you directly send SMS by going through your contacts. Only lets you reply to SMS, which is somewhat unstable because sometimes notifications fail to come to your desktop.
>Doesn't have a remote mouse/keyboard (PC to Android). Current Android to PC is okay, but imho less useful since I find typing on a real keyboard a lot easier and I mostly spend my time on PC anyway.
>Doesn't have an option to display your phone's screen and control your phone from there.

I still think it's useful because of shared clipboard and file sharing. If it ever recevies all the above features it'll be a win for KDE. They could also make it an SMS app and a remote control app and it would have the above features. I'd gladly replace my current SMS app in favour of KDE Connect.

It works on other DEs (I'm currently using it on Unity). The only thing lacking is remote file exploring from your desktop, but I always used Amaze for that anyway.

Webm?
How much KDE dependencies did it need to work ?

>shit runs in the background, yo.
>taking up a whole MB of ram and 0.1% cpu on a core2duo.
>softwares fucking heavy man, i wouldve had 500gb of porn but now i can only fit 499.8gb.
>baka

It's in the default repository. I just installed it and it werked, at least things I use
>shared clipboard
>notifications
What doesn't work for me is
>battery monitor
>remote filesystem browser
>SMS reply
I don't use SMS so this doesn't bother me much. Also I simply installed it from the software center without looking into what I should do. There's a tutorial on how to get it working properly on Unity.

kill yourself
FOSS AMD works wonderfully

You should NOT use the proprietary drivers for AMD cards, they exist for pro users and aren't acceptable for non-LTS desktops

Good way to easily transfer clipboard contents both ways. Probably my most used feature.

Also use it to transfer files, send texts and see notifications/battery info
