Monitor recommendations?

Anything that's 1440p, IPS, and 144hz. How about an Acer Predator XB271HU?

Well I was thinking more about an 3440x1440 ultrawide with a VA panel.
I don't really play FPS games much and a lot of the stuff I do play has an FPS cap anyway.

Failing that I was looking at the AOC AG271QG.
2560x1440, 165 hz, IPS, Gsync.
Worried about BLB and Glow though, also poor contract compared to my current VA.

Go for it.

Ultrawides are a bit of a niche but I do like VA panels. I was going to suggest a VA 1440p 144hz but couldn't find one. You can stick with 60fps. I've been spoiled by using vg248qe's so long, I couldn't go back to a 60hz panel. It does more than just gaming, the entire experience is smoother. Using a 60hz at work makes me sick.

Solid monitor. I wouldn't worry about the glow but you may notice the contrast compared to VA.

>I was going to suggest a VA 1440p 144hz but couldn't find one
Samsung should launch one by the end of the month, but sadly it's Freesync only.

I've kinda narrowed it down to 3 options:
1) Samsung S34E790C
>3440 x 1440
>VA
>60 Hz
2) AOC AG271QG
>2560 x 1440
>IPS
>165 hz + Gsync
3) Samsung S32D850
>2560 x 1440
>32''
>VA
>60 Hz

Anything bigger than 1920x1080 will do.

why do some people have "ForceWare" and some do not, even if they are both nvdia?

Waiting on my cryorig h7 bracket to oc this sumbitch

How bad does that CPU bottleneck your 1070? Time for an upgrade, just so you don't waste the money you spent on the card

Sensible

What's up with your resolution?

dedicated physx 770
i don't pay for power so who cares really

>3240x1920
huh

also good god
>TWENTY terabytes
i thought i was bad for data hoarding. shit, guy

3770k with an OC barely bottlenecks
compared to a new Ryzen or Intel, there's only a gain of 5-10 frames

oh no i misread like a retard
but that phenom is easily, EASILY outclassed nowadays
you'd get a huge bottleneck

>1080p 60Hz
>980Ti + 770
Get a better display

it's not like i can use them together beyond PhysX titles
also i enjoy consistent framerates so no thanks i don't think i'm going to upgrade beyond 1080p

anyone running a "better" potato here?

mine passed with flying colors

this test is stupid, it was nearly 2 gigs to download.

this is about as reliable as the windows experience index

right. even a potato can pass it. not that i am interested in vr at all.

no need to upgrade, desu

poor bastard reporting

i'll sell you my 770 for $100

hi fellow poorfags

what should I upgrade first, Sup Forums?

keep in mind that I'm from a 3rd world shithole

well let's see what you've got so far
because it could be a few parts or the entire system

sorry, forgot pic

see if you can get that pentium anniversary edition as well as a 1050ti

no wait i'm retarded and misread your board

but yeah you'd do better with a CPU upgrade of come kind

unfortunately that board is kind of a piece of shit so there's not a lot of room

ebay has i7 3770's for $100 USD
1050ti's/RX 460s should still be fairly cheap
miners aren't nearly as interested in the lower-end cards

Deal

you'll have to pay shipping and import charges because i'm a shitty fucking leaf

I need an SSD

Will probably upgrade to a 3930K soon.
Also looking to get a new (used) GPU but can't due to the mining bullshit.

thanks for the recs, anons!

Some of those higher ones are cheap now. A quad core would be a good start. And you don't have an SSD. And the video card is a placeholder desu no shame in buying bottom-end current market your screen can use it.

I'll take those off your hands.

Does it accept normal "memory stick" or only Sony's?

how do i get speccy to detect my ram?

No such thing my man, you have to mod your socket to get it in there

aliexpress.com/item/get_with_the_times_dude_china_provides/32560037124.html

Wew i didnt know these existed, i had to cut these things into my socket to get it in.
It was like a surgery, most nerve racking thing i have done

Am I sensible?

yo, greek poorfag reporting

I'm having the same problem

Is this your main computer?

You could get some really cheap upgrades to make it more current..

Get a xeon x3440 on ebay (its like a i7, but it usually runs a bit cooler and overclocks better)
If you want to overclock, I suggest thermal glue some sinks on the vrm and put a fan over.

8gb or 16gb ram used somewhere, 16gb is often alittle more expensive.

A gtx 970 or something if you want to play modern games. Graphic cards are harder to get cheap, but not impossible if you search around.

And for fucks sake, get an SSD.

Speccy needs updating, these cucks havent updated it for ages to be able to show DDR4 show up properly along with the new CPUs.

This is toned back to 4.3ghz as 220blck wasn't stable. x5660 on the way :3

>Flaming Blade..

Is that the red and black board with only 3 memory slots, and not the usual 6? I remember considering it back in the day.

Any overclock on your x5677? The 6core xeons are really cheap nowadays, consider a x5650 or something. And a SSD.

>and those temps..

Are you a fellow arctic bro?

>Is that the red and black board with only 3 memory slots, and not the usual 6? I remember considering it back in the day.

Sounds like it, though I wouldn't recommend it to anyone wanting to run any of the Westmere chips. You need a BIOS update to use them, and even then, you have to clear the CMOS and restore the default settings (even if they haven't been changed) to boot after it's been turned off. Overclocking is regrettably out of the question.

>Are you a fellow arctic bro?
Who's asking?

>you have to clear the CMOS and restore the default settings (even if they haven't been changed) to boot after it's been turned off.

Thats strange, sounds like some setting it doesn't like, you're on the latest bios? And you've replaced the battery?

>Who's asking?
North of Norway. Comfy 5-10c outside these days.

not even remotely true, my man

ctrl + f "775"

Haven't tried swapping out the battery yet. If that works I'll definitely try to get this thing overclocked. With any luck it'll go more smoothly than when I overclocked my old 920.

>North of Norway
>tfw just north of Rovaniemi
>11c

Feels good.

Been awhile since I've visited Finland, miss that forest smell. I'll have to come there soon, I want to see a Hornet airshow. You know of anything like that in the northen parts?

They're closing or have closed Bodo airbase here in Norway, been over a year since I've seen a F-16 even fly over my city (Hammerfest).

Yea, try swapping the battery and see if it helps. Could look if there's a later beta bios than the one you have too.

What ram and psu are you running btw? A bad psu can fuck things up as well. So can unstable ram.

In Rovaniemi itself there's the Arktikum Science Museum. That's a personal favorite of mine. No airshows as far as I know.

Anyway, RAM shouldn't be an issue. I recently put in a new 12GB kit, up from 6, and the issue persists. PSU is a Corsair 750W 80+ Bronze, non-modular. I don't think it would be the problem though, since I've never had an issue with it.

The plan is to get a modular PSU in the future, if only to get rid of these millions of 4-pins.
