Mandarin/Cantonese

Japanese is hard, but Mandarin/Cantonese requires extreme autistic skills to master, not even the natives speak it very well

>an Algerian complaining about the difficulty of Japanese

Japanese has one of the simplest phonetic systems of any language, making it easy for pretty much anybody to pronounce perfectly, and, if you ignore the honorific autism, the grammar is fairly straightforward.

Arabic, on the other hand, has a absurdly irregular grammar full of broken plurals and unpredictable word-formation rules, and other strange features based on the triliteral root system, and of course contains many sounds and phonetic distinctions that are completely alien to most speakers of non-Semitic languages.

Also, since you're Algerian, I'd like to point out that

[tftktst tfktstt] 'you sprained it and then gave it'

and

[rkkm] 'rot' (imperf.)

are both valid sentences in certain Berber varieties.

Can you elaborate? is it because there seems to be less established rules for Chinese grammar makes it harder to grasp all the nuances to become really good at writing it?

From a learner's POV, aside from the tones what's so extraordinary about the Chinese languages? grammar; a bastardized, less comprihensible writing system with multiple readings; more messy counters and formalities, etc. All seem to give Japanese the egde.

While it's true the pronunciation of Semitic languages is a bitch, the writing system is easy to get down, which can't be said about Japanese or Chinese.

The broken plurals are fairly straightforward and consistent once you get the difference roots (awzan) down.

アニメから日本語を学んだ

Both Chinese and Japanese grammar are really easy.

This because there isn't Chinese anime

t.Korean who went to Chinese elementary but speak Japanese better without studying

you good boy(゜ω゜)ノ(・∀・)

Japanese languages grammar is easiest.

but there is so many expressions and KANJI.

only speak rain, there is about 410 kind of words.

10/10

Japanese basic alphabet HIRAGANA is so easy.

if you can read HIRAGANA, at least you can read Japanese language.

くるま car
ねこ cat
いぬ dog
とり bird
がっこう school
せかい world
にっぽん Japan

>I can read LATIN LETTERS, so at least I can read Finnish

what is logic

do you know SHIRITORI?

Shiritori (しりとり?) is a Japanese word game in which the players are required to say a word which begins with the final kana of the previous word. No distinction is made between hiragana, katakana or kanji. "Shiritori" literally means "taking the buttocks" or "taking the end".

like this.

ねこ ことり りんご ごりら らっぱ ぱらだいす すいか かね 。。。。

this is good for your remember of Japanese.

Chinese is worse. At least japanese phonetics are easy.

really? that's good knowledge for me.

thank you.

to Japanese easy to learning Chinese

because Japanese is used to KANJI.

yes for other country include Korea maybe difficult.

so i can say learning Japanese is easy.

What are you doing in the US, Takeshi?

lol wut it's easy, Chinese and other sea languages are much more difficult

im enjoying my life.

The Chinese languages exist.

and one more i tell you Japanese languages game.

SAKASAKOTOBA(逆さ言葉)

that is some properly sentence you can read from other side.

like this.

軽いノリのイルカ

かるいのりのいるか

China abandoned the own all culture before.

nowadays Chinese language made from Japan.

lol, u fagget

Hindi and japanese have lots of similarities.
I dont know about other east asian languages(because I dont watch their cartoons)
It would be much harder to learn say, an eastern european or nordic language

>Hindi and japanese have lots of similarities
examples?

one more i tell you Japanese languages game.

DAJARE(だじゃれ)

that is same as rap. use a same
pronunciations words in the sentence.

like this.

ふとんがふっとんだ。

ねこがねころんだ。

まさおかしきがまさかのしき。

かんこくにさいごのかんこく。

Japanese like such a sentence.

While you're in the US please use the opportunity to improve your ENGLISH.

anotherlengua.wordpress.com/2010/08/31/hindi-is-like-japanese/

The word structures are similar, one letter makes one character represents one sound, many words are similar, like dhak dhak literally means doki doki in japanese, the use of the same word twice to highlight its presence, etc.
Im not a linguist so I cant tell much,as I dont know any other language than my own and english, and few japanese words and phrases you recognize after watching about 100 anime, but I can definitely say hindi is closer to japanese than english

my respect person Jackie Chan and teacher said

"don't be shy, use own English"

i just trying it.

and my English improved very well.

>indi is closer to japanese than english
I really doubt that
English and Hindi are both indo-European languages, while Japanese isnt
I'm no linguist either but Hindi is likely much closer to English than to Japanese, considering Japanese is in an entirely different language family than English and Hindi
most of the similarities are probably coincidence, both languages evolved separately from each other

Just a personal experience
Im entitled to my opinion

Japanese pronunciation is very easy. Mandarin has fucking disgusting sounds that only chinese people can actually make. Secondly, Kana makes reading and writing Japanese way more intuitive for a gaijin. The fact that kanji is mostly limited to concrete parts of the language (verbs, nouns, adjectives, etc), and kana fills in the gaps with conjugation, prepositions, etc. makes it simple. Mandarin is all chink-symbols, which is just mind boggling for someone who didnt grow up with it.

I mean, I guess I understand, but this doesn't really come down to opinions
it's about the facts and the fact is Hindu is more related to English than Japanese
I'm not trying to insult you or anything, if that's what you think I'm doing

What kind of sad weeb tries to learn Japanese, over an actual useful language?

t. learning german because of his 3/15ths heritage

LOL where are you from and how long have you been in the states?

I just think it's an interesting language
what kind of pathetic loser insults people for learning a language he'd probably never be able to learn?

POO IN LOO

>some properly sentence
>my respect person
this shit's gold

secret.

but few months.

>nordic language
Nordic languages are pretty easy for English speakers, at least Swedish

I respect it. I'm pretty embarrassed about speaking language im learning among natives.

(´ω`*)ゞ

>forgot proxy
>damage control

lol keep at it

(〃⌒∇⌒)ゞ

Unlike Chinese languages, Japanese has so many ways to pronounce each Chinese character depending on the context of its use.

Take the character 東 which means 'east' for example, in Mandarin the only way to pronounce it is "dong", but in contrast there are 15 ways to do so in Japanese.

and I learnt English swear/discriminate words by Sup Forums

Yeah but it'll have kana right next to it (furigana?) so I'll know how to pronounce it, and context isn't too much of an issue once you get good at it. With chinese, you look at the character and you can't know how to pronounce it because there's no alphabet so you have to ask a chinese person or something so they can tell you "oh that one's pronounced CHING CHONG LING LONG" but wait "ching" is different than "chíng" or "chìng" or whatever else there is.

From what I've seen Japanese is actually closer to English than most other east asian languages. It lacks tones (e.g. Chinese), and inflection, negation, and conjugation are all very familiar and intuitive. I'm nowhere near proficient at Japanese but I imagine it's a lot easier for an English speaker to learn Japanese than it is for a Japanese speaker to learn English, since Japanese actually follows its own damn rules.

English swearing is fun, isn't it?

You'll only find kana in children's books, shonen manga, and next to Chinese people's names

yeah
no swearing words that using sexual word(like fuck, cunt, dick) in Japanese(we have class) so it's fun.

>3 different writing systems, one consisting of thousands of intricate and specialised logographic characters
Incredibly inefficient really.
Why not just use hiragana for everything?

or in a dictionary
or a textbook on japanese

IMAGINEIFEVERYTHINGWEREINCAPSANDWHITHOUTSPACE

too many homonyms

and one more tell you that is Japanese poem HAIKU(はいく)

HAIKU is make poem in 5,7,5 sentence.

like this.

かきくえば
かねがなるなり
ほうりゅうじ

and HAIKU has a rule, that is every HAIKU have to include KIGO(きご). KIGO that's mean season words that's decided HAIKU organisation.

for example above HAIKU has KIGO かき(persimmon) this is autumn word.

that too

>2016
>ᚾᛟᛏ᛫ᚢᛋᛜ᛫ᚱᚢᚾᛖᛋᚲᚱᛁᛈᛏ

ᛚᛗᚨᛟ
ᛁᛏ᛫ᛁᛋ᛫ᛚᛁᚲᛖ᛫ᛃᛟᚢ᛫ᚠᚨᚷᚷᛟᛏᛋ᛫ᛞᛟᚾᛏ᛫ᛖᚡᛖᚾ᛫ᚲᚾᛟᚹ᛫ᚺᛟᚹ᛫ᛏᛟ᛫ᚱᚨᛈᛖ᛫ᚨᚾᛞ᛫ᛈᛁᛚᛚᚨᚷᛖ

do haiku's sound good in japanese? they sound pretty weird in English.

literal moonrunes

This isn't a real writing system, right?

But Hindi is Indo-European, it at least shares an ancestor with Nordic and Eastern Europe languages.

Aren't Arabic and Icelandic super hard?

Japanese borrowed many compound words from middle-Chinese, many of which sound the same in spoken Japanese due to its less sophisticated use of tones compared to Chinese.

for expressions.

KANJI and KATAKANA make lot of expressions.

like this.

かえるがなくからかえろう。 able to change

カエルが泣くから帰ろう。

蛙が鳴くから帰ろう。

かえるがナクからカエロウ。

カエルが無くからか、カエロウ。

just read by HIRAGANA same pronunciations but each sentence has different feelings.

Arabic is significantly more difficult than Japanese, both phonologically and grammatically.

The only real thing that Japanese is more difficult with is orthography.

Unlike Chinese languages that have single pronunciations for each Chinese character, Japanese has multiple.

For example, the character 東 which means 'east' is only pronounced "dong" in Mandarin, but in contrast there are 15 ways in Japanese including the most commonly used expressions 'tou', 'higashi', 'azuma', and 'shino'.

>learning our language
>you end up reading manga, watching animu and playing weeb vidya games

noice

>OP's flag

The French really are the biggest weebs.

Once your brain gets used to learning characters it isn't so bad. The first 100 or so are a pain in the ass, but then it gets much easier, as you can learn bushu and begin using pneumonics to memorize moar

nowadays HAIKU is popular in USA.

britishhaikusociety.org.uk/2011/02/english-haiku-a-composite-view/

and HAIKU rhythm is good for feeling.

>Phonetic script in conjunction with non-phonetic Chinese characters
>Logical and consistent grammar structure
>So much so that all you need to know is the base verb to intuitively know how to conjugate it in any give way
>Extremely active media industry to give you endless options to choose for practice and immersion

What are you smoking, OP? I'm not fluent in Japanese by any stretch of the imagination, but I've studied enough to know my lack of fluency is my own fault and not the difficulty of the language.

嘘はやめろ。お前さっきから日本のことゴリ押しして何がしたいの?

>useful

Would you rather learn a language that brings you fulfilment and happiness, or a 'useful' language that you are going to give up on anyway because you have no actual motivation to learn it?

It is impossible to not speak one's own native language well. The language itself is defined by how the native speakers use it, and they are never wrong. If you disagree, please study even the basics of linguistics, and you will come to agree with me. Because you are not, I will give you an illustration:

Languages are like organisms.
A biologist does not look at a group of frogs and say 'this frog is wrong, and this frog is correct.'
No, they are just frogs, just different.

Likewise, a linguist does not look at a language and say 'this native's form of english/chinese/japanese is incorrect, and this one is correct.'

No native speaks his own language incorrectly, even if it does not abide by the standard.

Has anyone really been far as decided to use even go want to do look more like?

i can learn japanese in a few days since it is a turanic language

Your expectations of gaijin weebs as a Japanese:
>I am a carpenter and I want to learn what techniques are used in building of the Itsukushima Shrine

>I am a musician, I want to check out the Indie scene in Tokyo

What we actually get:
>I am a BA Classical literature sophomore at Neverheardofbefore State University, I like watching anime and collecting anime figurines. I'm hosting a Wan Piss viewing marathon for the anime club this Saturday...

Weebs aside, Japanese is still a sought-after skill for the business world.

why are you get so mad?

fuck off.

Korean jealousy?

日本推しアメリカ国旗くんはアメリカ在住の日本人?weeaboo?串さしていたずら?

Japanese languages one of the good points, easy reusing foreign languages.

for example.

Chinese
馬耳東風
四面楚歌
一期一会
百聞一見
一騎当千
etc
Japanese can understand these Chinese 4KANJI sentence, it's very useful and very good wisdom.

English
テレビ
スピーカー
マイノリティ
フェミニズト
フレキシブル
ニュアンス
etc

Portugal
コロッケ
カステラ
etc

this KANJI and KATAKANA make easy to understand which words is from foreign language and easy can get nuances.

I don't want to study English anymore.

It is possible that he is a Japanese using a proxy. Anyways, he could not listen to any reasons.

Why are you so worry about It?

(-ω-)

お前朝鮮人?とか言ってくるあたりまぁプロキシを使っているクソゴミネトウヨくんか…

why are you get mad?

anybody didn't say insult something.

Literally learned Japanese from just playing video games and reading manga. How are you such a fucking pleb, OP?
Time to git gud.

頭が悪いので英語を習得する事も出来ないのでひたすら日本語で日本称賛スレを立て自慰して、自動翻訳の拙い韓国語で韓国スレを荒らしたり日本語スレで韓孤苦に脳内韓国人エピソードで嫌がらせをして劣等感を紛らわすしかできない哀れな奴だよ

I can guess where he is from by his English. At leadt he couldn't be a native English speaker.
