She has broken several laptops became they get clogged up with makeup dust from her watching youtube videos on Stacy whore makeup application in the bathroom. Her white chromebook is tan due to all the fucking makeup dust, and has a giant fucking crack in it. My mom has had to buy her a replacement twice in the past year.
She needs a laptop for med school because the kikes who made the exam software require windows. I got put in charge of picking out a laptop for her birthday, so naturally she is going to be getting a thinkpad.
I'm leaning towards a t420 right now, maybe an x230. Naturally I will be putting an SSD/RAM/etc in it so it will function as a good laptop, but I want to document the disappointment and rage as she realizes we aren't shelling out $2000 for apple faggotry that she will end up breaking in a year.
Has anyone on this board done something similar (buying a thinkpad for their normie family members who wanted a macbook)? Need some stories or advice. I will post updates in the next few weeks.

macOS is infinitely superior to shitdows anyway, Bootcamp is for necessity more than anything. I'd say use a ThinkPad dualbooting Linux and Windows, but a lot of software required in college is available on macOS anyway.
