There's nothing wrong with poking around and seeing how things are set up, but don't be a cunt, it's a public library. People use those when they can't afford a home computer and internet connection.

Yeah, I didn't do anything and I notified the staff, but this is just embarrassing

/r/thathappened

It's pretty sad desu. In my town, the public library's computer desk is usually occupied by older folks and minorities looking through job search websites. Every so-often a mom will bring her kid and he'll be on some kongregate-like site while she applies to McDonald's.

What is this?

When I was a kid I didn't have a lot of friends, we lived in a very small town. I liked computers, but my family couldn't afford one, so during the summer I'd go down to the library and I played on the computers and read lots of books. It was probably my favorite place to be. I hope to work at a library one day, I'd like that for my retirement

secure it up for them op!

youre doing a public service

i remeber theres actually a botnet going around that is attempting to secure unprotected routers and if its unable to it just bricks the device

WE NEED TO FIGHT BACK AGAINST THE DDOS

Can you share some books then?

I used to maintain our schools library computers for free

I mainly use deepfreeze for old computers and diskless setup for new batch of computers

Diskless server is heavily firewall'ed

>>they left port 22 open
>>this isn't even funny, just sad
What's the issue here?

Nothing, he's just retarded
>b-but muh bots
Your server should automatically ban bots and key auth is virtually unbreakable

I tried ssh [email protected] but failed. How did you do that? You shut down ssl server?

thats pretty cool user!

1.) they permitted root to ssh in via password
2.) the root password was literally "admin"

That's really nice of you, how did you get involved with that.

Neither is related to the default port being open.

>i tried to connect to a private subnet externally and it didn't work

which is not an issue.
the fact that their ssh server is not secured, however, is.

I know you are just fucking trolling since you can't actually be that stupid, but go fuck yourself anyway.

They're generally hungry for volunteers, especially if you can help teach about computers.

>go to library to do work
>end up doing jack shit and fucking around with random stuff
>discover insecure network but literally who cares its a public library not the CIA
>post about it on anime forum

>hacker

you spelt Skid all wrong

Fuck user, made me remember when my family would take me to the public library when I was a kid, shit was fun. It was a big ass library in a secluded area close to some woods, shit was comfy as fuck. Used to love walking around looking at children books and playing those simple PC games or learning games and borrowing VHS tapes of cartoon movies. They would also give out loads of stuff for kids like cool erasers, penciles, stickers, posters of the planets, ect. Man I wanna go back.
It was later bulldosed down into a shopping mall
Go back

>It was later bulldosed down into a shopping mall
Shit pisses me off.

Fucking lol'd

>7/10 if pasta
>10/10 if real

It's a library. Please leave it alone.

same exact feels here
:[

OP do a civil duty and secure that public service!

white hats > script kiddies

white hats are script kiddies you literal retard

My library has the computers really well locked down almost as good as Wal-Mart xp

/r/nothingeverhappens

most hackers nowadays are script kiddies.
white hat just means he's gonna tell the owner of the system about the security problem instead of being a faggot.

Go Back

How can I find information about this ip?

74.14.180.202

Is it safe or full of Malware?

this is so sweet, I hope you achieve your dreams user

you have to set up your hosts file properly with $(base64 -d

how did you nmap and ssh from a windows computer

get off Sup Forums you absolute retard

Putty

he would be grey hat actually, he didn't get permission from the library beforehand

>2.) the root password was literally "admin"
woah dude the password was LITERALLY admin? thanks for clarifying. I thought that was going to be some sort of metaphor for you being a faggot.

Same, my family couldnt afford a computer when I was growing up, so they'd send me to the library. I learned lot of "how to hack" from poking around the library network.

Many people have tried to fuck Sup Forums before, and we fucked them twice as hard. The bitch can try but she'll end up with a loose cunt.
