Firefox seems to force the GTK file picker regardless of what DE you're actually using. It's fucking bullshit. I know there's some sort of workaround with an openSUSE version but I haven't looked into it properly.

works for me user :^)

you need a patched firefox
now firefox just uses the gtk filechooser
i'd tell you how but I see you are using Arch so you'll figure it out

That's what you get for using sjw browser

There is always the LD_PRELOAD hack.

Not OP, got the same problem. Can you tell me how to fix it pls?

First you have to learn how to crop a fucking image before posting it.

yeah install opensuse

Ubuntu 18.04 can't come soon enough.

Canonical will finally make a GTK file keeper

plasmazilla faggots

Nah they won't. It's been a request for years.

Just stop using Firefox. What's the point, they're going to kill addons with FF 57 anyway.

There still isn't a better browser. And no I won't use a botnet, even if it's open sourced.

>firefox
>not a botnet

I installed this and it fixed the problem.

But im worried its gonna muck up my Arch instal

Is it safe to instal on arch?

Use qutebrowser

>using the smiley with a carat nose

Ah, Linux. how I don't miss shit like this.

Brave is a better browser.

openSUSE just used the QT one by default, if I remember correctly.

I wish people would stop pretending this is a significant problem.

But it is.
Unless gtk fixes its shit file picker people will keep complaining.

It is you fucking imbecile.

Instead of compiling firefox you can use the archlinuxcn repo for a binary of the patched version.

The waterfox version works well. Why would it break anything at all?
