I do. In fact, that i7 ws bought because of two reasons: at my phd Im doing some data fitting work and I wanted it to last as long as my i5-750 did before, which lasted for 6 years. In case of CPU, Im always willing to get more powerful than needed at the moment.

I see you responded to the wrong post and I fucked up desu. 12GB because It came out of an ASUS prebuilt from best buy and I'm still looking for ram, will be going for 32GB with 16GB sticks and later down the road to 64GB. Also will be upgrading to a 7700k to take advantage of my z270k.
The screenshot is the wrong one kek, I had a 1050 before and I lived with the iGPU for about 2 months (I work 50 hours a week) so it didn't matter.
Today I went out and bought an ASUS STRIX 1080, a geminii m4 cpu cooler (low profile) and a new 650w PSU (had a 400W one).

I would have preferred a Ryzen 5 system. Even with a 1400 you could easily upgrade later and would have a modern platform. DDR3 will be expensive like DDR2 is now.
