For better playback quality paste this in your mpv.conf file:
profile=opengl-hq
cscale=ewa_lanczos
scale=ewa_lanczossharp

Check your settings for compatibility errors by running mpv in command line or with

log-file=log.txt

. Search the log for "dumb" anything or for [e].

mpc-hc is still better for the near future

...

Bump

Still no volume control, linked mkv support, or album art?

Hey mpv pros, how do I make my mouse wheel change volume instead of skipping a minute ahead?

I tried the MPC-HC conf but it doesn't work with 0.26.

It supports all of those things.

>volume control
It's right there.

>linked mkv support
Does anyone even use that besides this one autistic person?

>album art
There's scripts for that that are pretty easy to set up, but seriously though why not use an actual music player (as in a program actually designed for playing music)?

I'm on Linux, so this might not work the same in Windows but you should be able to change the volume with the mouse wheel if you hold the mouse pointer over the speaker icon while spinning it.

>Still no volume control
Already implemented.
>linked mkv support
No one uses it.
>album art
Not a music player.

Now fuck off kuchikirukia.

I want to make yet another mpv frontend

Me again, if you want the mouse wheel to change the volume by default then you can set that directly in the input.conf file. It looks super easy to do according to the sample input.conf.

>github.com/mpv-player/mpv/blob/master/etc/input.conf

Do it. The problem doesn't seem to be in making them but in maintaining them.

Baka-MPlayer and Bomi were both great but now they are both abandoned (though I saw a mysterious git message saying that the Baka-MPlayer guys were working on something big behind the scenes).

So on windows is setting hwdec to auto bad vs just using software rendering? As in are some settings only usable in software mode?

>>Me again, if you want the mouse wheel to change the volume by default then you can set that directly in the input.conf file. It looks super easy to do according to the sample input.conf.

That doesn't work anymore on 0.26. See for yourself.

>though I saw a mysterious git message saying that the Baka-MPlayer guys were working on something big behind the scenes

I want to automate script management, a frontend to input.conf, and mpv.conf.

>drag and move mouse to seek
absolutely why

Does the latest build fix stuttering in macOS?

github.com/mpv-player/mpv/issues/4623

Fuck off kuchikirukia.

github.com/mochi-player/mochi-player

What are you talking about? You're not quoting the right person.

I dug up some more info for you.

Some messages saying they're working on something big going all the way back to November.

The most recent information I could find on it:
github.com/u8sand/Baka-MPlayer/issues/259

tl;dr:
>Baka-MPlayer is being refactored into Mochi-Player.
>Mochi-Player compiles and has more features than Baka-MPlayer, but was(is?) more buggy than Baka-MPlayer.
>Once Mochi-Player has an actual release, users of Baka-MPlayer "will be notified" through the website.
>Development is slow as the developers are busy.

Seems they're working in the development branch here:
github.com/mochi-player/mochi-player/tree/develop

and TODOs
github.com/mochi-player/mochi-player/projects/1
>Migration from Baka-MPlayer. While not too many major aspects are left, a large amount of minor ui glitches are present that need to be hammered out along with testing on Windows and Mac OSes.

From June 18th
>While I don't have a timeline yet, I can tell you that there really isn't an overwhelming amount to be done. Many of the Major TODO parts are done and just need testing and the Minor TODO things might take from a few minutes to an hour.

Anyone wanna try compiling it?

Doom9 unbanning when?

>No one uses it.
Funny you've had multiple requests.

It will be on libmpv, right?
mpv is not banned on doom9

mochi-player.github.io/contribute/

*based on libmpv

Yes it is. For stealing from madshi.

Does mpv work as well on Windows as it does on GNU/Linux? Does it truly use OpenGL or is it one of those OGL->D3D9 translation layer hacks?

Yes it will.

mochi-player.github.io/
>Thanks to the powerful libmpv playback engine, mochi-player can play many files. mpv has an OpenGL based video output that is capable of many features loved by videophiles, such as video scaling with popular high quality algorithms, color management, frame timing, interpolation, and more.
>Don't let the slim design fool you. Power users who want to change that obscure mpv option can do so right from the built in command line. All you have to do is append the word mpv to the command.

Is the other way around kid.

Nice.

madshi isn't banned from doom9. mpv has to use Sup Forums as their forums.

Works well for me, I'm on Windows 10.

And?
Also mpv is not banned.

mpv is banned for stealing from madshi.

>mPv Is BaNNed fOr stEaLing fRoM mAdShi.

>Claims mpv is banned on doom9 because stole code from madshi.
>Provides zero evidence for both of the claims, the banning and the stolen code.

Pretending you don't do it won't get you unbanned. Perhaps you should try apologizing.

Provide the evidence then, of both the ban and the stolen code.

Then what is this, you fucking idiot?

>m...madshi was banned from doom9 for stealing from mpv!
Funny he's there and mpv isn't.

Ignoring Stop shitposting m8, you're trying too hard.

Good, I hope it won't be long till mpv is banned from here too, maybe then we can finally have AV-related threads without mpvfags shitting it up every single time

Problem is wm4 is a mod and he's the one making these threads.

>Samefagging this hard.

Come on now user, being a little too defensive aren't we?

>He thinks a screenshot proves anything.
Go back to discuss madvr in your beloved doom9.

>can't even detect samefag

>there's no way I could be an idiot, he obviously edited his pic to prove some faggot on a shitty thread wrong!
You really aren't that important kiddo, then again with the absolute state of these threads I can't really blame you for being this paranoid

The state of the threads??
Most of the time they're alright (see last two threads) but when shitposters like you come and try to derail the thread there's nothing we can't do.

Apologize to madshi and the Doom9 team and maybe you'll be allowed back there.

Back where?

Does mpv has dynamic range compression?

Yes.

Yes, you need acompressor.lua, download here:
github.com/medhefgo/mpv-acompressor

Thanks.

You don't need that. It has it built in. See the manual.

Thanks for this

Audio: Yes, multiple: af=loudnorm, af=dynaudnorm, af=acompressor etc.
Video: Yes, multiple: see --hdr-tone-mapping=help

Just me or mpv.srsfckn.biz/ is down?

Bump

Is down for me too.

ddosed by madshi

Fug.
Clean install here and I don't really trust sourceforgeshillaroo builds.

more like kuchikirukia

Oooooooh!
github.com/mpv-player/mpv/pull/4616#issuecomment-316643239

>This performs almost 50% faster on my machine (!!), from 4650μs down to about 3176μs for ewa_lanczossharp.
Devs and math. :D

Nice.

Is haasn sleeping at his desk all the time?
Is he exploited in a stupid company without desks? (pic related)
Is he using a workout desk like Linus Thorvald?

Stop taking drugs, foozoor

Why am I getting red frame timings after updating to the latest version? I'm only using profile=opengl-hq and interpolation. The gpu/cpu load is less than 10%, and there's no framedrops or anything. Should I worry? Previous version worked perfectly fine.

>hevc
maybe you were playing h264 before?

I'm getting red/yellow frames even with h264. Previous version worked fine with hevc.

Did your average timings increase or are you just getting higher peaks?

it's just peaks I think.

>kuchikirukia
I fucking knew it.

Hardware decoders always fuck up colors or add some other problems. Use it only if your playback gets bottlenecked by your CPU.

Not always.

Yeah, meant sometimes.

Try enabling opengl-pbo

With opengl-pbo enabled mpv crashes every time I try to play something.

How do I rebind the mouse wheel to volume and
mouse side buttons to chapter skip?

sounds like ANGLE quality

try using dxinterop?

MOUSE_BTN3 add volume 10
MOUSE_BTN4 add volume -10
MOUSE_BTN5 add chapter -1
MOUSE_BTN6 add chapter 1

cheers mate

Does not help.

scroll wheel might be AXIS_UP and AXIS_DOWN
you can run mpv --input-test --force-window --idle too see what each input registers as

It doesnt matter if it only happens at the very start. Its normal.

Yeah but in his screenshot over at you can see that the uploads are peaking quite heavily on a regular basis

opengl-pbo could prevent that

Thanks, apparently even my mouse side buttons are different being 7 & 8

Is it beneficial to use opengl-pbo with dxinterop?

is there a low quality preset I can try? Playback is smooth (smooth as a 60hz screen can get playing 24hz video that is) on my laptop using video-sync=display-resample, but it isn't smooth once I fullscreen the video.

Are these diagnostics generated by some LUA script or what?

The problem is that it happens all the time.
Tried enabling opengl-pbo with dxinterop, it didn't crashed this time, but the problem still persist

github.com/Argon-/mpv-stats

I would strongly assume so. Have you tried it?

Can you try the direct rendering branch? (opengl-dr)

Enabled it just now. I felt like it was unnecessary since everything worked great for me anyway. I'm not the user with spikes.

Here's opengl-dr
