Are their suppliers gonna open up plants here too?
Because this is gonna be a glorified boxing plant where all the parts come pre-assembled because it's still cheaper to do it in china.

it will close in a week when burger start crying and bitching about chink labor conditions and will be moved to mexico.

My thoughts exactly. People in the US cannot live on Foxxcon wage when it is so expensive to live in America vs China.

>So with basic salary alone, Foxconn assembly-line workers will make as much as$400a month, based on location and passing a probationary period. That's for 160 working hours a month, so the hourly pay is about $2.50. Foxconn also wants to significantly reduce overtime, and excessive amounts of overtime in particular -Feb 2012

It could be 100% automated. Trucks deliver materials & pick up finished products and two or three guys supervise the production. That'd be even cheaper than china since shipping is not as expensive.

>"bring back manufacturing!"
>Foxconn shows up
>"alright woah now"

It'll probably be heavily automated. They'll hire like 200 people and leave the rest to the bots. And about 180 of those 200 will be making minimum wage with no benefits. These aren't the factory jobs of the 50s.

Probably would have been better off keeping the factory in China, that way at least the prices of the goods would have been cheaper. Now you have a more expensive product and a workforce that still can't afford it.

now watch as the muh-free-markets "libertarians" go begging to daddy trump to subsidize their incomes with tax dollars

Can't wait to apply.

>Trump can't make manufacturers come back to the US

>Shortly after Trump was elected, Foxconn Chairman Terry Gou said his company would invest at least $7 billion in the United States and create between 30,000 and 50,000 jobs. If it follows through with that commitment, Foxconn will become a major employer on par with Chrysler. In April, Gou spent more than two hours at the White House.

Factory will probably end up looking like this:

>1-3 billion dollar incentives
>Foxconn
>FOX
>CON
I might be on to something guys.

oy veyy!

why didnt they build this plant in israel!

we cant have the dirty goyim making more money.

amerifats will just send you the shekels

this is going to be for the iMac and 8K television displays.

Cheaper to ship internally in their second biggest market

>electronics prices skyrocket by orders of magnitude
>poorfags' only consolation is their meager wage that doesn't even afford them the products they're paid to mass produce
>scientists harness the power of free energy as Ford rolls over in his grave at incredible angular velocities

This. I payed for expedited shipping on a custom specced 5k iMac and not only did it miss the initial deadline, it almost missed the second deadline as well. The parts will be in standard assemblies and the finished computer will be put together in Wisconsin.

Only way I could see it working is if it's fully automated. Burgers wouldn't go for the pennies and inhuman working conditions the chinamen tolerate.

Will the Wisconsin factory also have suicide nets?

does anyone see this as a reversal of roles?

US used to outsource for cheaper labor. now we're the outsourcees.

not to go on a slippery slope, but could one day come when we'll be wage slaves for chinese-owned multinational corporations? right now they're the ones gobbing up cash while we're bleeding to death.

also I'd have been more impressed if it was asus or gigabyte

We prefer to kill ourselves out in the woods.

No, we just drink alcohol. Fucking FIB

japan used to be our china so it is realistic to assume we'll be or have another china.

But Japan was smart enough to move towards automation once they realized cheap labor can only get you so far. US needs to adapt as well; ignore those who cry about automation taking their McDonald jobs and invest in it. Besides, new markets will emerge from automation.

Except the people employed in Wisconsin will be making near enough an order of magnitude more than their chinese colleagues.

If you're not learning Mandarin Chinese right now, you're a fucking idiot.

japan stalled due to stagnation and debt being 200% of GDP

I don't see a similar ceiling for china

This really. Also, this thread belongs on
