I come to you with tidings fellow Sup Forums

I come to you with tidings fellow Sup Forums.
Recap on last thread:
>Consider Sup Forums to be one of the final bastions of what it means to have 'freedom of speech' in internet.
>More and more websites increasingly adding restrictions on what you can and cannot write.
>Be a php coder and decide to make a website with no money or donations that allows people to continue writing whatever they want.
>Post it on various plug sites and people take it very negatively
>Still trying to find people willing to write.

Sup Forums recommended this:
>Change up some rules. The wording was weird so I did allow it to include other things to be written freely.
>Add SSL. I just did this. Very excited.

what next guys? Anyone else coding? Programming projects? Suggestions?

rules list here for writing.

Add loli

It is up to the users to write whatever they feel like writing about. I purposely choose to have no control of what content shows.

I would simply allow anything that does not result in the servers being raided and the site shut down. That would be about as close to freedom as you can get.

thats pretty much what I have... read the rules though I hope you like it. Would you be willing to write what you're passionate about?

You're probably only going to get racism and misinformation.

how are you gonna prevent people from sharing cp with steganography?

Yeah. Probably. I could also get people who are willing to write and give their own educated thoughts. Not everyone is clueless. here is an article that was posted today for example:

1stamender.com/article.php?articlenumber=1262

I'm not unless it's blatantly obvious and can take down my site.

>Items subject to copyright/patent claims

statist bootlicker cuck

trust me. I don't like that rule either. Unfortunately due to how lack of such a rule could definitely take down my site I had to. But if there is an alternative... Let me know!

OP this is awesome. I saw your thread a couple days ago (yesterday, even?), and it seems like this thing is flourishing overnight.

I don't have much to suggest, other than featuring more random articles on the front page.

I have to figure out a simple 'single-script' that will output any article as need be. Right now there was an issue I had found out about the home page in that it took too long to load. Initially I had an individual query for every 'type' of article... "News", "Gaming", "Opinion"... a total of 11 different queries and all 11 of them requesting for an algorithm pulling from multiple tables in order to sort it. Because of it it would take upwards of 10+seconds to load the homepage. This caused most people to bounce off of the page so I had to have it removed unfortunately.

Also thanks!! Seriously I do want to change how we consider 'free speech' on the internet. I am just waiting for sites like twitter to blatantly start removing content and people becoming aware and distrustful of it. It is only then my site will truly gain popularity.

Well, that didn't take long...

Maybe look what you might do in regard with the android app "LibreNews". Maybe that might be related to your idea.

>Mfw it's actually a complete, well written, extremely detailed guide on how to install Gentoo

I can look at it to see what its all about. I hope that my site has some level of distinction.

Good work, user. I'll check that. Is this open source? We could help you much more that way.

...i would like to but i am afraid my sql credentials are in the code. how do i not do this???

Good work! But well, don't you think writing something specific like "hey you can talk about child porn here" can cause misunderstandings? You should keep it simple. No need for that "what you can write about" section. Openly saying the things listed are allowed gives it a bad image. It should be like, "you can write about anything, except...blahbla". More secretive. The "what you can't" list looks good but for example "you can write about child porn but can't post or encourage pedophilia" should be in paranthesis next to "you can't post cp" to avoid confusion. I see what you are trying to do with this "can do" list but it's counter-productive on expressing the POV used of the site. Also, good luck

uhh, how about not writing shitty code that's difficult to sterilize?

read -erp "Enter preferred root password " rootpassword
read -erp "Enter preferred username " user
read -erp "Enter preferred user password " userpassword

I've gotta say, this site LOOKS like a clickbait article site.. I don't think this is a good design.

Do you just randomly pick a recently written article and put that on the front page?

This. Go with a custom design, less fancy and more spartan, but easy to use.

I should say, does your algorithm randomly select the articles that appear on the front page, or is it some algorithm factoring in rating/comment activity

>Sup Forums
>Freedom of speech

it is a custom design. my design. can you quantify it a bit??

as of right now it is random to make it appear more active. though when i get some popularity i have an algorithm for having the journalist rating... the writer rating... minus how many days old. right now it is just generating a rand number for the time being.

i mean i only know of one way and i found it very complicated to sterilize. I simply had no idea how to do it. I am sorry.

stackoverflow.com/questions/97984/how-to-secure-database-passwords-in-php

Good luck OP, running a site with user submitted content is very difficult to manage

I will have to play with this! it seems simple enough for me to understand. Thank you!

Host on a country where that isnt illegal

I... have been wanting to host outside of godaddy and go with some sort of other company. I have had plans to do this. though I wouldn't have the faintest concept on 'how' to do this with ease.

Host website via bittorrent

Yeah, you can't even make a creative post without a mod spazzing out. Yet chink shit general and other consumer threads are A OK.

Why do that when 4kev.org already exists?
They don't even use captchas

c'can you even do that? I apologize for my ignorance in advance but...

r'really? can it be accessed via a web browser? No way.

A Google free future awaits and Sup Forums is not invited.
