What typeface do you use for programming?

>invasive font rendering engine changes != to ≠
how is this a good idea?

They're just ligatures, they don't actually change the character, only the way it's rendered.

The fonts are designed for programming (Hasklig is a Source Code Pro fork for Haskell nerds).

It is. It's a shame.

Either outdated or this guy isn't familiar with programming text editors.
1) Only a few languages like Agda (a niche offshoot of Haskell with dependent types typically used with special packages that actually convert typed code to unicode under emacs or atom) actually use Unicode. Aside from that it's usually considered an even greater taboo to include such unicode symbols in code or code comments.
2) Some of these typefaces have support for customizable scopes and languages. This way certain ligatures only show up under certain languages and only within certain scopes (for instance you might want them disabled inside strings and comments).

Also, you can tell what you're editing. Refer to picture in

>im a programmer not a webdev
programmer as in "a person who stares at a computer screen reading and writing text all day"? of course you give a shit. your eyes especially

>outdated
It's 5 days old. Says the date right at the top.
>isn't familiar with programming text editors
He's a professional typographer and programmer and has been for over a decade. I guarantee he knows more about editors, and specifically the typography of editors, than you do.

ligatures are great in FP languages with a bunch of weird operators like

Terminess
Roboto

The lettering is something called Silian Rail

where is my reward?

on 1080p monitor (still better than windows)

Are you retarded?

that's pretty sexy, what font?

>that screenshot
windows is a blurry mess. jesus christ

it's just a bunch of Sup Forums turbo autists with nothing better to do than ricing the code.

i render my fonts organically on a free range render farm . they have plenty of disk space to roam .

> The fonts are designed for programming
How the hell am I supposed to tell the difference between short and long = ? Sounds like a retarded recipe for more bugs.

How large is the carbon footprint of that farm though?

What the hell did you do to it? It's good.

>hurr durr why don't programmers just write their lambda expressions using unicode U21D2 instead?

One is short and one is long?
