Default firefox is garbage. If you plan to use firefox make sure to check: dom.event.clipboardevents.enabled to false beacon.enabled to false media.peerconnection.enabled to false loop.enabled to false toolkit.telemetry.archive.enabled to false toolkit.telemetry.enabled to false toolkit.telemetry.unified to false datareporting.healthreport.uploadEnabled to false datareporting.policy.dataSubmissionEnabled to false browser.send_pings - false media.peerconnection.video.enabled - to false browser.send_pings.require_same_host - to true toolkit.telemetry.server - delete browser.selfsupport.url - delete address or replace with " " webgl.disabled* - to true dom.battery.enabled - to false network.prefetch-next - false browser.safebrowsing.downloads.enabled - to false browser.safebrowsing.downloads.remote.enabled - to false browser.safebrowsing.enabled - to false browser.safebrowsing.maleware.enabled - to false network.http.sendRefererHeader** - from 2 to 0 plugin.scan.plid.all* - to false browser.chrome.toolbar_tips - to false dom.event.contextmenu.enabled - to false* extensions.getAddons.cache.enabled* - to false network.http.referer.trimmingPolicy* - to 0
*optional (even though disabling webgl should be recommended) ** an autist user had a hysterical attack by saying not sending RefererHeader was insecure. If you believe in that kind of thing just change to 1which will only send referer to links you click
it's time for someone to invest in a txt based browser with click-to-see image option. Also it would be nice to include host protection (ad-malware-tracking) by javascript disabled
Gavin Wood
>dom.event.clipboardevents.enabled to false Great, now I can't paste text into Facebook messenger.
Logan Ortiz
w3m does exactly that, if avaiable it even displays images on the (p)tty using a framebuffer
Elijah Richardson
thanks
Christian Miller
I went from chrome, to ff, to chrome again, back to ff, and then to chrome. Firefox just kept getting more and more sluggish and I only ever used adblock+. Now finally on opera and its not so bad rn. No good image hover extensions though. wonky
Mozilla is Google 2 at this point who is allowing this kind of stuff into the browser?
Charles Taylor
thanks m8
has there been a security audit against w3m?
Noah Brown
I'm not a search engine
Isaac Gray
thanks based op for consistently reminding us to check our firefox config
Isaiah Reyes
stop with this irony
Hudson Watson
>you chose to save & run Firefox_update.js
Sebastian Martin
Daily reminder that OP is a somewhat disguised Google shill.
Lucas Hill
webrtc is good though
fuck off faggot. it's not insecure; its your sense of "privacy" that is flawed.
Carter Anderson
>webrtc >ip leak Fuck off retard
John Clark
Fuck off I'm just saying the obvious: Mozilla don't care for privacy anymore, they spend all year making those hipster conferences about gender equality and multiculturalism Chrome/Chromium is 10x worse but they don't hide they simply want to give people all the Googleâ„¢ benefits I've never seen Chrome being advertised for security for instance a single line of code exposed your local and private IP. Both Chrome and Firefox allowed this shit to be released in their default client and took months to fix while not even addressing the issue
mozilla is 100% committed to jews, it may be even worse than Google. Mozilla begs google to include their botnet on firefox and uses all the donations they receive to promote fancy events in expensive hotels all over the world I had the opportunity to talk about some faggots in Switzerland ''working'' for Mozilla THEY DON'T KNOW NOTHING NOT EVEN HOW TO EDIT ABOUT:CONFIG They receive 60k+ dollars a year to promote multiculturalism and the latest New York fashion (environmentalism, feminism, whatever)
Their concern for security is 0. All security features incorporated for the past 3 years are made by chinese and nordic basement hackers that audit their shit in their freet ime,
Go fuck yourself. I respect more a globalist jew like Soros than people like you because he is not trying to spread ironic reddit memes
Bentley Butler
>I had the opportunity to talk about some faggots in Switzerland ''working'' for Mozilla THEY DON'T KNOW NOTHING NOT EVEN HOW TO EDIT ABOUT:CONFIG >They receive 60k+ dollars a year to promote multiculturalism and the latest New York fashion (environmentalism, feminism, whatever) Can confirm
Ethan Sanchez
...
Aiden Wood
well fuck time to switch to Uzbl
Dylan Ramirez
So you can disable these things in other browsers?
Zachary Lopez
in waterfox and icecat yes in theory in palemoon and other shit firefox-based browsers In the future Brave might add this feature but we don't know
Robert Young
>Eliot Higgins >the anti-Russian propagandist that the Jew York media prints without the least skepticism mozilla is kill
Stop shilling for adware, Brendan.
Benjamin Green
>a single line of code exposed your local and private IP.
that's the fucking point dipshit. it's a good thing not a bad thing.
Angel Robinson
>Eliot Higgins >he is married to a Turkish woman. >Eliot Higgins has been a subject of interest for the British and U.S. media. He has been profiled in print by the The Guardian,[1] The Independent,[7] The Huffington Post,[3] and The New Yorker.
How can you have so many redflags and be considered a hero by ''open software'' mozillians?
Kayden Nguyen
It's not open software. It's the open, liberal (i.e. managed) web. His is the liberal part. I guess I'd better get to work on de-botnetting Chromium. That shit is just unacceptable. >mozilla: the national security browser
Sebastian Morales
trips of truth
Jose Evans
it's a good idea to do this:
Locate the preference geo.enabled double-click on it to change its value to false You may also delete the address in geo.wifi.uri/
Firefox use google geolocation so it's better to delete the address
Evan Hughes
Totally inadequate. Try e.g. github.com/pyllyukko/user.js with almost 300 settings. There are others as well. If you do something, do it properly.
Also, any of these settings are not useful if you don't learn to behave online.
Adrian Turner
So out of curiosity, what is the accepted browser to use, if Chrome is out the window as is Firefox. Realistically, though; there's some things I can't do with a textmode browser due to work, and stupid shit I need to use in-browser with that.
Michael Lewis
Links. Other than that, there really isn't one. Your best bet is to roll your own out of Electron.
Zachary Kelly
>brave >adware isn't that opt-in though?
Wyatt Brown
w3m can display images
Isaiah Lee
...or you can use TorBrowser without Tor. It's hardened Firefox without bloat. All your recommended preferences are already changed. Just remove all default addons in TorBrowser and change "network.proxy.socks_remote_dns" to false in about:config, then restart. Don't forget to install uBlock Origin.
>not using a fork who still uses vanilla firefox anyway?
Lincoln Adams
But disabling all of that kinda makes Firefox...well...basic. It's like buying a smartphone and turning of camera, location, mic and data sync because muh privacy.
