Why does the very existence of this OS family make GNU/Lusers so angry?

Why does the very existence of this OS family make GNU/Lusers so angry?

Is it because they've invested all that time feeling smug and superior about their consumption patterns, and don't want to contend with the fact that something even better might exist?

We're actually on the same side motherfucker. Stop talking like a Wangblowz user!

nice one

No point in writing exploits for an OS that only an ugly lizard with anger issues and like 5 neckbeards run.

OpenBSD doesn't have any attack surface because no one uses it.

No one who makes these threads uses BSD.

You're probably right mate

It was never proven. Post source if it was of shut the fuck up shill.

A survey of BSD kernel vulnerabilities (DEF CON) [pdf]

media.defcon.org/DEF CON 25/DEF CON 25 presentations/DEFCON-25-Ilja-van-Sprundel-BSD-Kern-Vulns.pdf

BSDs have vulns (OpenBSD has the fewest).

Only 20% less than FreeBSD but FreeBSD has 200% the code.

does 200% more code mean more features, or just shit poorly factored code?

made by single person, surely he catched everything

The Apple Macbook Pro with TouchID doesn't have this problem.

I have no problem with other operating systems unless the users are retarded (Windows, iOS and OS X) or the OS uses the user (Windows, Ubuntu), or if the devs are just fucking hipsters that break stuff on purpose or make it harder to use for no good reason (Arch, Gentoo, FreeBSD and Plan9 and their forks). Everything else is pretty much fine.

>it took a single guy to sit and read the code for some time to find 100+ kernel bugs
A high-quality code they say.

Yes

lol btfo

nvm, it was already there

enjoy your monolithic kernel

Enjoy your FUD

Why shill a garbage os?
Somebody must be paying OP for this.

FreeBSD is something that corporations use to make their proprietary software for free and not give anything back.
Why should I like it?

What are you talking about? I use GNU/Linux on my desktop and laptop but I do like BSD and use it for a few specific things.

I'm fairly sure OP is a Mac fag.

No idea. FreeBSD, and a derivative of it: TrueOS, looks interesting.

Nobody use that garbage, but that shit may compatible with every *nix system.

the openbsd guys have already fixed a lot of this, too

TrueOS is bad. GhostBSD is bad.
Just install FreeBSD, it works great as a desktop after you change a few settings.

cooltrainer.org/a-freebsd-desktop-howto/

I would ignore any of the tunables regarding memory or processes unless you are on a 64bit install.

What's wrong with GhostBSD?

>something even better might exist?
Certainly not FreeBSD.
1. they don't even have one tenth of resources that Linux has and it shows
2. last time a critical piece of FreeBSD (update system) had a huge vulnerability, the security team played dead for *weeks* until it got public and was too big to ignore any longer

I'd sooner accept fucking Slowlaris than the FreeBSD crap.
