He's pajeet. Just look at pic related.

How can he be so... I dunno, cool about it.

Wasn't this supposed to be repealed or something? when's that gonna happen?

go back to r/technology faggot

Is there a reason people here support net neutrality so much?

I thought it was one of the more educated boards, smart enough not to fall for this reddit-tier bullshit.

NN is a scam.

Why would you want the FCC regulating the internet when we've seen how shit they have made radio and tv?

Because the alternative is much worse.

Because they want to be able to access any website in the world, which is unreasonable. The internet is nothing more than a privilege like cable TV. If your ISP wants to control what sites you can visit, they have every right to. Just like how your cable company controls what channels you watch. It's basic logic.

Except the alternative is what we've had the last 20 years.

The Redditors want to change that though.

whats the alternative?

im all for americucks getting cucked

>Let's give the people who censor TV the control over the internet over some hypothetical situation
Yeah, sure.

Letting ISPs do what they want with less oversight.

>google collects my data so it's OK if my ISP does it as well

i swear to god some americans are straight up brainwashed, if not retarded.

>I don't know what the FTC is responsible for

Net-Neutrality does NOT apply to mobile ISP's yet you don't see any website blocking. Why don't the redditors ever mention that?

>he's unironically fine with censorship of information by corporations
Do you jerk off to 1984 or something?

Nobody gives a shit about mobile connections retard. They throttle everything all the time too.

>Nobody gives a shit about mobile connections retard.

Except they do and they have far more subscribers than landline ISP's.

Not really. The FTC could regulate it, and they're better equipped to do so anyway.

Even if you want to take a full cynical approach:

The current head of the FTC is willing to regulate with respect to net neutrality.
The current head of the FCC is not.

So who would you trust more?

It's in the title.
Sup Forums - Technology

Where's the shock, Sup Forumstard? We actually intimately know the issue.

>DRUMF IS LITERALLY HITLER
>PLEASE TRUMP TAKE OVER THE INTERNET

>people ITT parroting anti-NN talking points literally debunked in OP's video
Can't make this shit up.

Back to with you.

>head of FCC is a Pajeet piece of shit
>pls take over the internet Pajeet

>We actually intimately know the issue.

Except you rely on fake news from John Oliver. True Sup Forumsentoomen can see through all the lies from the libtards.

>The internet is nothing more than a privilege like cable TV.
>privilege
Except for the fact that if you don't have a computer or anything that can access the internet in 2017, you're basically at a social disadvantage. Plus basic things like accessing grades, getting information, and communication are all digital nowadays. Internet is no longer a luxury but more a necessity such as water. It's people like you that Ajit Pai is doing this shit and getting away with it. Stop conforming and look at the facts.

>Internet is no longer a luxury but more a necessity such as water.

I have spent over a decade conducting academic research in networks and am still actively involved in it. I know the issue far better than the lawyers at the current and former FCC.

The evidence to support net neutrality regulation isn't there. There's more evidence against it than for it.

>He doesn't provide anything to the discussion but a shitty "Maymay" image

I feel bad for your parents. They had to raise such a piece of shit.

t. virgin neckbeard internet addict

All a person needs is 56k internet at best for filling out forms online.

You can do this through countless of poorfag 3g providers like freedompop or just go to a fucking library.

The Redditors are arguing unlimited 4k Netflix streaming is a life necessity like water.

Then refute the video.

I'll wait.

of course, they want everything for free. college, healthcare, internet. delusional retards

It's not about being free it's about being affordable
I make 500$ every two weeks, how the fuck am I supposed to live off that?
Fucking old fags don't get with the times.

>mfw nearly every country with free healthcare pays less than amerifats for better service
delete this!!!

get a better job you loser

Sounds better than endless wars and corporate welfare.

with way worse service
only feasible in small homogeneous WHITE countries

I hate this shitskin so much.

>only feasible in small homogeneous WHITE countries
Extraordinary claim, my friend.

Did you know your americucks' medicare or medicaid (probably both) can't even negotiate prices?

Continue getting fucked by that corporate dick and telling yourself it's all because of dem naggers.

> 56k internet at best for filling out forms online.
Dialup is too slow even back when it was the only way to access the Internet back in the 90's and the average site would take days to load.

>just go to a fucking library
Won't do a damn thing about prioritizing sites and eliminating competition out of malice.

>3g providers
Basically unsupported this day in age or in the coming future
I'm lost of words. The fact that people are defending this shit is baffling.

I rest my case. Pathetic.

>Won't do a damn thing about prioritizing sites and eliminating competition out of malice.

Except there's a thing called the FTC and also why would an application website get blocked. Stop with your inane hypotheticals.

Internet is not a right and there's a ton of options for poorfags looking to fill out forms online.

>implying poorfags actually want to get a job

Netflix is pushing Net Neutrality hard because all they care about is their own bottom line
of course redditors fall for it because Netflix is "progressive"

>eliminating competition out of malice
a l r e a d y i l l e g a l

>All a person needs is 56k internet at best for filling out forms online.
good luck waiting for that form to show up in 2017 with that

>Don't trust the news organizations who's job it is to look into things and report the facts, trust some random faggot on the internet who probably didn't even graduate high school.
Yea no thanks. That's the kinda of horse shit that erodes your freedoms for the sake of making billionaires even more rich. What's the point of taking this position if you gain absolutely no financial compensation and lose freedoms?

I have. Job application sites are mostly text.

...

corporations own the media in America

>Except there's a thing called the FTC
Like that shit would stop a massive multi billion dollar company from doing what ever they feel like in a Net Neutrality-free internet.

>Internet is not a right
Get your head out of your ass, this isn't 1995 anymore. We need the Internet more than ever in this day in age.

Without corporations, you wouldn't even have a fucking computer to shitpost with.

hurry, someone post those old ass articles where they have all been stopped and penalized previously

>LOLOL YOU GUYS SUCK HAHA I WIN

Both of those statements can be true simultaneously, lol.

Yet ISP's are doing it anyways in addition to many other illegal shit like packet injection. As long as they can grease a few palms, they're untouchable.

>Like that shit would stop a massive multi billion dollar company from doing what ever they feel like in a Net Neutrality-free internet.

It has. See mobile internet, or just the internet before these pseudo-regulations by Obongo.

>Get your head out of your ass, this isn't 1995 anymore. We need the Internet more than ever in this day in age.

For what? Shitposting? That shouldn't be a right.

You can easily live without the internet. You can mail letters to people, pay your bills at the local utility company office, go to the library to read books, rent a DVD to watch movies, or go into a store to purchase goods.

pajeet pai

>We need the Internet more than ever in this day in age.
HAHAHAHAHAHAA
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHHAHAHAHA
This is what retarded porn consumers actually believe.

>I don't know how to change DNS providers

My point is Americans are fed what ever corporations want to tell us, Theres no real news in America

Yeah, Move halfway across the country for another ISP to do the same shit. Abandon friends and family, or a steady job just for an equally shitty internet provider. That's such a good idea! Oh, wait. It isn't!

CNN pls go

If you're so anti-corporation, why don't you stop using everything that came from a corporation?
But wait, you're probably anti-government too aren't you?
Why not just strip naked and go live in the woods. Maybe you'll die of exposure so the rest of us won't have to hear your stupidity.

are you retarded? sounds like it

Party over Country huh

Pretty sad. Hope things get better, America deserves better

>If you're so anti-corporation, why don't you stop using everything that came from a corporation?
Not that user but you're clearly making a strawman.

It's possible to note the undue power corporations have in the US while also being for the existence of corporations.

Please try again.

I would like to merge Sup Forums with Sup Forums, turn on flags and ban pajeets.

Incorporation is socialized property for private capital holders and are thus, by extension, part of governmental structure. Having one part of the government look over another part of government's shoulder is nothing new and is, in fact, a core tenant of Republicanism. Really giving ISPs free reign to do as they please with no repercussions or outlines except 'make as much money as you can', as extensions of govt., seems like giving a small group of people enormous governmental protections for no public gain.

What I don't see from these NN detractors is an explanation of why they think recommendations to prevent content blocking and throttling by ISPs will lead to a governmental content committee or some such.

are you a madman or something? That argument might work for "oh you hate men so much . . . " I can never really tell with threads like this who is getting their kicks and who actually makes some of these wild claims with almost no extra reasoning

holy shit you Jew-Dick sucker, im just pointing out a reality concerning MSM in America
I never once said i was anti-corporation

So in other words, net neutrality doesn't work.

>Hurr durr ur retar! LOOOL

When Ajit Pai kills off NN and you complaining that Sup Forums is so slow. It's because of you sucking his dick and not doing anything to stop this. Kill yourself please.

It does if its enforced.
If there is no enforcement, there is no net neutrality.

>What I don't see from these NN detractors is an explanation of why they think recommendations to prevent content blocking and throttling by ISPs will lead to a governmental content committee or some such.
regulations already exist under FTC oversight. these apocalyptic scenarios where ISPs will all of a sudden decide to censor the internet and throttle everything they're not associated with are completely asinine. if you want internet censorship, aka Bongland, then please let the government get even more involved. as if mass censorship from large sites isn't enough already

>recommendations to prevent content blocking and throttling by ISPs will lead to a governmental content committee or some such.

It has. See Europe.

They heavily censor piracy and "hateful" websites, via the government. Then look no further than radio and TV in the US to see the effects of the FCC.

so you seriously don't know how to change your DNS?

It's more than that you fuckhead

The only thing Obama did wrong was allowing himself to get cucked by the Republican party.

It's already happened though. Even here in Canada, we had an ISP that offered free Spotify for mobiles (the ISP and Spotify are part of the same conglomerate) for a while and the government intervened to bring net neutrality more clearly into law.

Mobile ISPs already do anticompetitive bullshit like putting data caps on services that don't pay them enough.

Obama was a Cuck period, thats why we have an actual man in office now.
now I dont agree with everything in Trumps administration, but its obvious he was a reaction to the last administrations cuckoldry

That has nothing to do with net neutrality laws though.

mobile providers weren't even included under the proposed FCC regulations, so...

>I don't know how the internet works but I make smug posts about it anyway

I'm just giving an example of an ISP (here they're pretty much under the same regulations) doing anti-competitive shit.

>This is a government intrusion into the Internet
The alternative is a complete corporate control of the Internet. In 2014 Comcast tried to kill off Netflix, but only stopped after getting paid a ransom. This happened.

>We need to return to "light-touch" regulations
When the FCC voted to regulate the Internet as a utility under Title II of the Communications Act of 1934 in 2014. All it did was solidify how the Internet was all along. That is, it protected Net Neutrality.

Ajit is the one trying to change a free and open Internet. If you don't believe me, visit any website right now.

>ISPs have never throttled competitors
Netflix. Also, we have Verizon excluding their own video application from data caps. They are already doing anti-consumer shit like this with the NN rules we have. They are trying to fuck us. Verizon and Comcast are also lobbying hugely against NN because they know it will give them free reign to fuck you.

>In a capitalist utopia you can just change providers
You're lucky to have more than one option you fucking moron.

They are fucking idiots.

I know you don't have to move across the country to change your router settings to 8.8.8.8 / 8.8.4.4

>Ajit is the one trying to change a free and open Internet. If you don't believe me, visit any website right now.

>regulations never took place yet

what did he mean by this?

Are you dense? We are having to solidify net neutrality because corporate buttfuckers are challenging how the INTERNET HAS ALWAYS BEEN.

NN protects how Internet has always been. Without it you'll get data caps, fast lanes, ISPs excluding themselves from their own caps, etc. You'll get fucked.

How fucking hard is this to understand?

Bongland and Europe are not Muricaland. There may be many similarities but we are either talking specifics of law here, or about something you are in denial of.

There is also no call to implement a "fairness doctrine" for journalistic reporting a la 1927. This is about classification as a telecommunications service not a broadcasting service. If you aren't familiar with the differences then I don't think I can educate you about that here. If anything both of your comparisons are lacking cogent steps that logically connect how it goes from "don't block and throttle" to "you must say/not say these things".

who are you quoting?

...

The video isn't an argument for net neutrality. I'm not disputing the popularity of the issue, I'm disputing the notion that it is good policy in the first place. The evidence doesn't support the latter.

In addition, the creator of the video seems to either be lying about/unaware of the details about the existing implementation of net neutrality. You can see this in the examples he brings up. For example, Netflix-Verizon and Netflix-Comcast issues were the result of peering disputes. These are unrelated to net neutrality. The FCC has even said that their rules do not apply to peering agreements. Other examples include him bringing up differential pricing agreements, which are permitted under the FCC's rules.

Dude, I don't understand why there is even a discussion... unless these shitposters work at ISPs or something.

What's happening is the effect from a swing-election. We had a black Jimmy Carter essentially fuck around for nearly a decade, and now that everything is shifting this guy comes in like its the fucking '80s again to make money for small groups of people and somehow there are people arguing in favor of throttling, etc.

The normalfag mindset is that a "new internet" seems interesting because they're sick of "sjw" bullshit.

What should be happening is the advancement of normalizing opengl, webgl etc. ever since Jobs killed Flash. That's what I think anyway.

I don't care what numale faggots think about anything.
