Making old games run on new hardware.
>Reverse engineering obfuscated code
Depends on the language. Java Bytecode, even while obfuscated, can be re-engineered pretty successfully if done well.
A buddy of mine did his master's thesis on it, creating a "decompiler" for Java that worked even on Allatori, which is the Java obfuscator that all the big companies use.

It can, actually. The company I work at evaluates candidates on their "upside growth potential", which means that if a candidate is highly experienced but seems to only qualify for an entry level position (or some other position which should be below their paygrade), the recommendation is not to hire them.

No.
Even the example you just wrote is wrong
condition ? if true : if false
e.g.:
boolean b = true;
string s1 = b ? "true" : "false";
print(s1);
That prints "true"
boolean b = false;
string s1 = b ? "true" : "false";
print(s1);
That prints "false"

There are only two difficult things in computer science. Cache invalidation and naming stuff.
I love those puzzles.
Are there people that seriously struggle with calculus?
I liked the entire trilogy. Mostly.
how can you be so criminally incompetent? you don't have to derive or prove anything, here's all they teach you in calc 1:
limits (really fucking easy, just know basic algebra)
derivatives (just remember the rules/formulas, it's not hard)
single variable integration (can be difficult)
here's my tip on integration; just do the homework/practice. integration is harder because if you don't know what method to use, you're stuck. and not all integrals are solvable (though the ones you get in calc 1 probably are). but if you do practice you'll become experienced with substitution and integration by parts to know what to do.
then there's trig substitution, which is a bit harder since you have to be comfortable with trig identities to know what you're doing; it was so challenging to students that teachers in subsequent courses didn't require it because almost none of the students knew it
