Well Ryzen exists and it's raping intel. But what a suprise the poo in loo pajeets failed.

Raja's literally the only pooloo and he has a good record. The chinks are behind literally every single fuck up since Fiji. Power hungry, under performing, CLEARLY bottlenecked. It's power hungry and "under performing" because it uses a hardware scheduler. You remember, like GTX 480 back in the day? That had a hardware scheduler just like AMD cards do now.

Nvidia gets good power efficiency because they use software scheduling on their cards now. I bet you were one of those people laughing over nvidia sucking in "asynchronous compute", even though here you are complaining that the thing that makes AMD good at it is making their cards eat power like a fat kid eats icecream.

That's not really the case. Nvidia doesn't use hardware scheduling because it's architecture doesn't benefit from that as much as AMD's. That doesn't mean it eschews it altogether.

Instead, they do more in software and let the hardware/driver portion drive lower level features that would make scheduling better such as preemption at the instruction level and having dynamic scheduling queues.

Reread the Anandtech review on the 1080.

I don't think anyone really expected AMD to BTFO both of it's competitors, both of whom are larger than they are, in the same year. Vega is still fairly competitive even if it runs too damn hot.

It's 60% higher wattage, not half. If it was half the 1080 would run at ~150 watts. That's what the 1070 runs at.

Wait for Drivers(TM)

Vega is memory bandwidth bottlenecked in games and DSBR, which isn't turned on yet in Vega drivers, should exactly alleviate that bottleneck.

Until we know how well they've implemented DSBR we won't know how Vega's going to really do in games.
