Is there ANY reason at all to buy intel processors anymore?

Is there ANY reason at all to buy intel processors anymore?

R3s replace pentiums and i3s
R5s reppaced i5s
R7s replaced i7s
Threadripper and Epyc replaced everything else.

buy 7700k for muh gaymeing peformance

Not really, considering the AM4 socket upgrade path is good for the next four years or so

Doesn't it cause stutter and lower min FPS in games?

Also doesn't it require a heavy duty AIO?

No and no.

you tell me

pcgamer.com/intels-tells-core-i7-7700k-owners-to-stop-overclocking-to-avoid-high-temps/

So... They both stutter?

fast single thread niche

None of them stutter, but the 7700k outputs higher fps, both average and minimums

Gaymers BTFO

7700k for muh 500fps in csgo@720low
also lowers your heating bill

So I should buy 7700k so that I could run something at 240fps instead of 200fps?

You should buy whatever you want

no, but somere Sup Forumsermin might tell you to do so

You gain 40fps, and lose in any real workloads. It's the perfect product! Want more multitasking like the r7? Buy a Skylake X! Only 300% more money for 10% more performance!

*in 1080p

above 1080p there's no difference.

>R5s reppaced i5s
R5 replaces i7
>R7s replaced i7s
R7 replaces overpriced CPUs like 6900k

>Is there ANY reason at all to buy intel processors anymore?
Not being poor and wanting things to work for example

Except that's wrong

Its all about performance for your budget. if intel or amd can give you what you need. i like AMD, especially for its more honest market tactics. the AMD 1600 is a great CPU. i bought it with a mother board and 16GB of ram for $418 a decent gpu like an r9 390 or a 1070 and a 2TB HDD. will get you to $700 build. if anything thanks for amd for making both competetors cheaper.

how about, linking to video.
and even better, linking to channels that actually know how to do benchmarks?
youtube.com/watch?v=4RMbYe4X2LI

yes and yes

>using AMD processors

All those benchmarks are at 1080p you blind cunt

>talking about the 7700k
>"Hey those benchmarks are wrong because look at these benchmarks of a 7600k"

The average simpleton AMDRone for you

Definetly. Make sure to do it of the back of the finest cherrypicked benchmarks that Sup Forums can offer too. Don't do your own research, silly goy. Gaymans Nextass have done your thinking for you.

They are also, made by incompetent people.

That's right, dissmiss any evidence that challenges your warped idea of reality as false

Go ahead and stick your head in the sand, see where it gets you

7700k is in that video, and overclocked @ 4.8Ghz it fairs as good as 1600 @ 3.8Ghz , making it pretty shit CPU

>evidence
I had enough evidence from seeing him talking to joker about how shit his methodology is.

the numbers and the bars dont add up. hue hue. whats so bad about amd? lets look back at 2016 Q1 before Ryzen. yeah they didnt have the best CPUs so what they arn't a bad company. they're CPUs worked well and were cheap. thats all i care. i dont need a i7 nor a 1080ti. all i needed was a 6300 and a r9 series gpu. i bought ryzen as a hobby item and for rendering. although i have to say i got like 10-20FPS boost from my old cpu in gta5

Yeah no, he found one example, one fucking scene in ONE game where it could approach it at a distance.

And that in no way invalidates all the other benchmarks showing games where not even a 1700 comes close.

You're the prime of example of blind fanboyism willing to cling to outliers and present them as the median

Oh yeah? What evidence is that?

>i7 is dropping to same minimal as 1600
>it's FPS goes off the roof when looking at the sky
i7 looks like worse and worse of CPU by the second.

Whilst you, rabidly defending the honour of Intel and their products, are clearly just an unbiased, proud denizen of Sup Forums looking to clear up misinformation. By posting cherrypicked screenshots from Youtube videos. :^)

I handpicked the best example for the 1600, and the 1700, and that was it, the one example he could find where the 1600 wins.

If you want to base your decision to buy a cpu on such an outlier, go ahead.

Just ignore all the other cases in which the 7700k wins in both mins and averages.

It's your money buy whatever you want

Again, where is the evidence that his tests are invalid?

>hurr but it's in the video

So point it out or you're full of shit

no, and sort of, definitely if you overclock. It's a hot chip for sure.

I don't give a shit, buy rypoo if you're fanboyism to AMD prevents you from accepting evidence

He only did 3 games, one that is single threaded, so i7/i5 wins, hands down, no question asked.
Second is DX12 game, it takes advantage of more cores but still just DX11 wrapper used.
Third is actually multi threaded engine, it shows that i7 stutters like mad and it can't compete with multithreaded performance of 1Ghz down clocked CPU

it really does show that 7700k is terrible buy in current year and advantages it holds are negligible.

What the fuck are you on about? Why did you reply to such an obvious troll?

7700k needs to be delided unless you want to experience heat spikes

You don't need delid or a $160 AIO for 7700K at stock. And OCing has very little effect on gaming performance for the 7700K.

why not. im just saying amd aint a bad company.

That's an incredibly shortsighted thing to do. It locks you out of moar cores and really any future upgrade at all. Zen 2 will probably match or beat the 7700k single threaded, but with double the cores, and Zen 3 will be supported on AM4, too.

>7700K at stock
then why buy an overclock-able cpu when you don't intend to OC it?
>little effect on gaming performance for the 7700K
not on short terms sure but it'll die on your hands from the stress

>And OCing has very little effect on gaming performance for the 7700K.
OCing to 5Ghz is the only upper hand intel has in single threaded games

I think a better argument for the i7-7700K should be: is paying $100+ extra for an AIO with the i7-7700K worth the ~10% better FPS and lower multi-core performance?

>inb4 day 1 1080p benchmarks
2012 called, it wants its 1080p resolution back.

I don't buy intel processors because they're all stuttery good for nothing housefires.
