Oulu University dorms... yeah. Yeah.

Turku student houses

...

...

>turku
>sounds exactly like "the turk" in romanian

confirms the turanic link and the dacians' conquering of Europe

...

Fryslân.

downtown Budapest from atop Gellért Hill

Old apartment in London, Ontario.

Mini-dump inbound.

Just different angles of the same window.

what is that ugly black streak on the wall?

You mean that black mark on the yellow brick? I'm guessing it's leftover from another roof from another building that used be there

Last one.

...

Did you go to see a lot of OHL games? I heard London is the place to do that.

...

No, even though I was like a 5 minute walk from the Knights arena. I'm not big into sports.

...

...

Pretty cozy.

Kalmar (1/2)

what can you even do in a small town like this? how far is the nearest city?

(2/2)

Please rate this awful city

...

What's wrong with it?

You can drive about an hour to the grand canyon or south to the red rocks in sedona. Or you can stay in town and eat in one of our 5 thai restaurants
Phoenix has a metro pop. of ~4 million and it's a 2 hour drive south of here

...

I don't see anything wrong with it. Looks like a typical Euro city.

refugees, refugees fucking everywhere

>he doesnt live in a war zone
plebs all of you
youtube.com/watch?v=a3Lx0qpbz_Y

>You can drive about an hour to the grand canyon or south to the red rocks in sedona

neat. what's the main source of income in that area?

Typical euro city filled with refugees

Pffffffffff

...

Tourism and the university are the biggest things. We have a pet food plant and an ice cream cone factory too

>that picture
>tfw I will never live near a river

Comfy.

Knoxville, Tennessee

Why can't we send Pippi after them and put a swift end to them all?

...

Funny you mentioned Pippe when the city is Kalmar lol

'Pippi

...

Compared to our depressing commieblocks Oulu looks like a paradise.

*Uleåborg

*Åbo

how you city?

this is the westhafen, newly built commiblocks

Why?

and the Europaviertel

Those are some nice looking commie blocks.

so, just a typical euro city

Astrid Lindgren is from Vimmerby, which lies in Kalmar county. Kalmar is ofc the capital of Kalmar county.

Let's send Emil after them too. How many figures can he make out of their bones?

1000000 i guess

...

Oulu has no unified style.
This is a "new" old building converted to flats, the highest in the city.

the destruction of the old building did not go so well. They had to do 10 demolition explosions.
They don't build'em like they used to.

Jyväskylä

Tbh.

...

JKL

This is what most of it looks like

Limingantulli: big furniture and electronics stores, flat boxes, a sort of hell, now getting to be perilously close to the city center due to sprawl

The architecture doesn't look different from older buildings here, but because of the weather+all the commieblocks looking basically the same makes it more depressing to me.

Oulu continues

a view toward city center

...

JKL kuulee ja kuittaa.

Oulu railway station to the right.

The bastards ripped up the street for repairs and alterations just a few days ago. Had to walk around a block to get home. I should've just taken a different route.

Goddamn Oulu is fugly. Just next to the railway station. Yuck.

[taking ecstasy intensifies]

Forgot pic

along the same street, two restaurants, a used book store (tiny), Hempsteri (pot paraphernalia store), an accounting firm (Maraton, sure, use a greek-sounding name...).

...

Cool pic. Is Manchester anime tier?

and further along the same street:
a porn store
an IT shop
yet another used book store, this one is bigger

...

Intiö in Oulu, I live there. It's ok despite the 70's commie blocks (I live in one).

m.youtube.com/watch?v=4hxtV7Z1dVY

more chav/nig/paki tier although it's pretty great for partying. and with the amount of far east asian students moving over here it could become anime tier i guess

Alppila is a newly built up region in Oulu. It doesn't have a bad rep yet.

...

another view

Nice

Fünfkirchen

West Tuira in Oulu.
At least it isn't East Tuira.

...

It's just that we have mini commieblocks in our mini cities so they don't look as oppressive. They're otherwise the same.

Something I've noticed in these sorts of threads is that Finland has a shitton of commie blocks. I'm starting to suspect that you're not like the rest of nordics, desu.

Pretty grim desu

First turn your volume up

From the 1950s to 1980s we had "Soviet friendship" and a lot of economy and cultural life was integrated with the Soviet Union which according to all university professors was the inevitable future. We are like a 1/4 post-gommie country and architecture was one of the disciples where absolutely everyone was a commie obsessed with imitating the USSR.

If you think commieblocks are bad, well, we also let the Russians build nuclear power plants for us.

hehheh, one of our nuke plants is a bastard hybrid:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loviisa_Nuclear_Power_Plant
>The Loviisa Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) (Finnish: Loviisan ydinvoimalaitos, Swedish: Lovisa kärnkraftverk) is located close to the Finnish town of Loviisa. It houses two Soviet-designed VVER-440/213 PWR reactors, each with a capacity of 510 MW.
>The reactors at Loviisa NPP went into commercial operation in 1977 and 1980 respectively. To comply with Finnish nuclear regulation, Westinghouse and Siemens supplied equipment and engineering expertise. This unorthodox mix of US and Soviet enterprise led to the project developers being given the nickname "Eastinghouse".[1][2]

Where is that?

Mississauga

Brantford

damn I bet it's like Suomi Shore in there and like 1/4 of the water is actually semen and vaginal fluids

Well no shit, as the only axis country and the only country that actually had to fight to stay independent funland has not had a easy time after the war, like the privilege of getting free american monetary support. Quite the other way, having to pay the soviets for the pleasure of them having tried to invade kept the country in a stasis for almost 10 years.

Add to that all the other merits of being economically isolated for decades do to pressure from mordor and local commie shitheads it's amazing finland is as great as it is and really just shows that no country has any excuse for being a poor shithole.

Very well, then.

The best part of Prague really. Close to city centre, but not ridden with tourists and shitty overpriced places for them. Tons of great pubs and clubs...
