I'm scared and I don't want them to see the things I have.

We... They dont care about your fetishes

In fact OneDrive is a great place to store porn

We can. People have done packet sniffing, as well as other outgoing traffic testing. On top of that Microsoft released a document which says what they are (legally) collecting. Which is a lot. Keep in mind that Microsoft owns a bunch of other services too, like LinkedIn. (And can partner with any in the future) and just link your browsing habits, documents, pictures, etc. to your career, and potentially more of your profiles.

They listed their optional content mostly from OneDrive if you installed windows 10 and didn't use a Microsoft account and turned all the toggles in the privacy options to the privacy settings you are fine

Not exactly. Telemetry is still active. Your PC gets a unique Ad ID too. Everything is still possible to being linked to you. Going through the privacy settings is a pain since they can be reset with just any update (speaking of experience here, with the upgrade to the anniversary update) as well as a lot of them aren’t explained well or hidden in sub menus.

...

But what is being sent not using OneDrive or a Microsoft account and keeping an eye on settings (manual updates)
Telemetry can mean anything from just what specs you have to what files your opening

>Telemetry can mean anything from just what specs you have to what files your opening
Exactly.

telemetry send anonymous stats about software usage
cortana send every personnal data it can but it's not used by anything else than cortana. that's the purpose of a personnal assistant btw.
Microsoft can't into big data, they have no clue on hox to make money from your data so they don't really look at those, they just store them with cortana just in case they have an idea someday

Windows 10 is for you. In fact microsoft in general is for you.

>anonymous

Microsoft is for every moral human being
Nothing to hide nothing to fear

Can you give me your credit card number please, I need to subscribe to some free trial that requires a credit card and I don’t want to use mine. You have nothing to hide from me anyways, you said so yourself.

Please show me where Microsoft is taking my credit card information and passwords.

Credit Card information:
>Windows Store
>Office 365
>Xbox Live
>typing it in in any site using Edge (keylogger built-in to improve features towards you personally)

Passwords (even though I didn’t ask for your password):
>Edge built-in password manager (linked to your Live account)

Implying that information isn't out of their reach

They own the servers of these services. How could this be not in their reach?

You said you have nothing to hide. Not you have nothing to hide for Microsoft. If you meant the first, then you should ge me your credit card information, since you have nothing to fear with me knowing it, as well as you don’t feel like you’re hiding it. If you mean the latter, you’re a shill because “it’s ok when Microsoft can know my personal information, know when and where i open any app or document,….”

But I trust Microsoft to uphold their duty to not do anything with my data. On the other hand you have something to hide so you aren't upholding the law

Their privacy policy clearly states they send everything you type, read, and the names of everything on your drives.

Show me where they do that

Microsoft doesn't release details of what exactly they collect and how often.

It is bad faith on their part.

They hide it under "learn more."

But that's not just Windows, this statement covers all their services.

The linking private shit to my job is the problem here, hopefully they never do that

It is not illegal to have secrets. In fact it is encouraged to keep some things to yourself.

Microsoft is a company. They make money from hardware, software and advertising. The latter paying only decently if they use user specific information to target personalized ads. Microsoft has all the reasons to sell your information. On top of that they own a lot of other services and work together with even more, so they could potentially link these “small” bits of information together. If not Microsoft themselves, maybe a partner, or maybe even the government. This can affect your life. Banks can deny you loans, companies can fire or deny to hire you, or worse. This information may or may not be linked right now. But it’s only better for the user the less information they can gather from you.

Who Windows 10 Enterprise with LTSB here?

I'm pretty sure what microsoft do with data is safe enough.
The problem is having a bunch of "green" internet services running at all times on your computer, just waiting for getting exploited by some chinese kid.
And if one box gets exploited, all boxes get exploited.
It's pretty much like being a Gros Michel banana.

MS is bound by law to protect customer data which is more valuable anyway with the company using it internally for their own needs.

There's no logical reason why MS would leak it's User data

MS barely makes money off advertising and the way it uses customer data that way is anonymous AND can be disabled

Microsoft can detect new malware in the wild through Windows Defender and people who opt to send the full Windows Defender data to Microsoft.

That is why Windows Defender is getting better and better.

>We collect data about your contacts and relationships if you use a Microsoft product to manage contacts, or to communicate or interact with other people or organizations.

Great, even Microsoft knows I'm a lonely loser now

There's no logical reason why MS wouldn't leak it's User data
