Cheap Phone Thread:

Can you guys recommend decent phones, in the price range between $100 to $200?

yeah I recommend the Researchâ„¢ Play Edition

...

Kek!

j7 perx on amazon is where it's at right now

Moto G4 Play

I just got the ZTE ZPro. It's pretty nice. Less than 200 bucks.

Totally agree.
Moto G4 Play or G4 Plus are great phones.
Just bought the G4 Plus 64gb unlocked from B&H for $199, free shipping.
Great deal on a great product, full 1080p!
But I've seen the G4 Play and/or a smaller gb model for a lot less $

BlackBerry Q10

htc ONE M9

Please don't, its awful when it comes to build quality and feel, just get a samsung s7

t. a htc one m9 user

This.

I daily one, I personally think it's a step above a Shitsung S7, but not as good as a HTC ONE M7.

Nexus 5.
sadly no more android updates

A xiaomi phone or Oukitel K10000 Pro.

Kinda weird to say this but so far I like my G4 Play more than any other phone I've used, and that includes a few flagships.

It ticks the few non-negotiable boxes I have and is just a good, no-bullshit device otherwise.

LeEco Cool 1

Thoughts on the Moto Z Play?

Moto series are a fantastic and cheap solution for a smart phone

...

Xiaomis phones are good, see the /csg/ threads on this board.

It's good, but not really in the 100-200$ price range.

Zenfone 2 Laser is breddy gud for 170e

Its a tad to big but it has great stuff

a Meizu

they look very decent and from time to time you do get os updates.

compared to Xiaomi, in the $100, Meizu uses Sony cameras instead of those shitty OV Xiaomi uses

Their App Store and android version is BAAAAAD

Have a bump. I am also interested in the topic.

not at all

i got a 6.0 on mine (and just got the flyme 6 with a newer security patch) and i think they've just released one with nougat.

i don't even know why would you want anything above marshmallow except new emojis cause all software works perfectly.

their app store is only good for -> google services installer -> play store

This

Lenovo K6 is also an option.

Frankly, no. Nobody can.
It's like the $1 hamburger. You can buy it and make yourself believe it's edible but you're going to eat shit.
Your $200 phone is going to contain about $100 worth of very low-grade components, put together in a sweatshop. Not tested. Not certified and no warranty.
People will tell you this isn't true. If so why doesn't everybody use $200 phones?
Get an old phone, put a new battery in it and use it. At least then you'll have a phone that might have once run a known version of its OS.
Cheap phones are usually on the very oldest releases of their OS. They'll never be upgraded. You'll never get the features you want.

Just wait for the Moto g5s. It will probably cost 250$ and is far less ugly than the normal g5.

>mediakek
nope

If you don't have to fear prosecution by the Chinese state: Ulefone Power 2. Other than that: Honor 6x.

On another note, what are decent smartphones that have a unlocked bootloader or are at least easy to unlock?

I only know about nexus/google and oneplus, which are getting too expensive.

>6050 mAh
Nigga what?

Buy a used Nexus 5x on eBay.
