They still sell chips for consumer devices, you can find them in some Asian markets, but mostly China. Lenovo was selling VIA desktops in China for a while, not sure if they still are though.
VIA has been developing a set of encryption instructions for the Chinese government used to protect state secrets. Thats pretty much the only real reason why they keep making X86 chips, to keep that ISA supported.
